I think I'm losing interest in kpop... (1 Viewer)

I've had a few that I liked moderately but nothing stands out. Is it just the quality of the comebacks or am I really losing interest in kpop?

Of Korean releases the last thing I loved was Venom, and that was release May 25th.


Of non-Korean releases, it was this:


I don't find myself as excited for comebacks as I used to be either tbh ​

It sounds like I’m biased, but I listen to a lot of releases, so usually have a decent sized list by the end of the year. This year though I think my non-biased favourites have been from iKon and Nu’est.

I surprisingly liked iKon's release too, I usually don't vibe ith their music but it was one I liked

I think Kpop at the moment has just become pretty stagnant as these current concept trends have been going on for a while now to the point where it's starting to become self defeating since people are used to it.

The only concept I seem to be drawn to is the pop punk/emo concept. I feel like retro is drawn out. And I can’t get into summer concepts which those are starting to emerge

Yeah that's fairly normal for this time of the year where groups will try become the next Sistar for mostly around July and then go back to whatever their concept actually is

It’s not really my style personally. So it might not be kpop as whole, just recent releases tbh

for me idk actually... im more interested in gl cdrama and douyin tik toks these days im just waiting for twice comeback and bts comeback which the music is ok i guess and now there on a hiatus :(
