I don’t even feel comfortable posting in threads with political topics for fear of people assuming I’ll be biased against those with a different opinion or against threads that are showing a different political view. I don’t give a crap about what your political views are, I care about if you’re breaking rules when posting.

i honestly think that hiding those political views just because you fear those with opposing views, isn't the best way to do it. like politics is something that just works on debating and being vocal about stuff, having strong opinions. you shouldn't be scared of expressing your political views, you should justify yourself, and understand the other person's view too. that's what i believe. rest is up to your choice, it's okay if you don't wanna reveal them too.

It would be lovely if everyone agreed that it’s about justifying yourself and treating others and their views with respect but unfortunately that’s not the case at all. To some it’s about their view being right and everyone else being a terrible person.

i usually keep my controversial/disagreeable thoughts to myself anyway so i thought i'd be fine as mod, and i generally am, but i have to admit i feel like i have to hold back more than i thought. sometimes i even catch myself overthinking like, "i know this is what i mean but what if other people read it as something else entirely? what if someone reads too much into it or i sound too snarky or biased?". i genuinely enjoy being a mod but i feel you, it can be a little frustrating having to bite my tongue sometimes ngl
