namely, the shortest and longest periods an animal needs to carry their young. Here they are!

shortest: Virginia opossum, 12-13 days (well, there is a certain marsupial that only has an 11-day period, but I can't think of the name rn lol maybe @eurasian_eclipse or @Selfmate could help? lol)
longest: African elephant, 22 months
