We all made something to bring and share with each other. I was listing the ingredients in my soup and when I got to Mexican oregano they all got surprised and asked where I even found that. They seemed to be expecting some niche Mexican store or something, but I found mine on Walmarts online site

They’re completely different plants. There’s a vague resemblance, but Mediterranean oregano is more peppery and sometimes minty, while Mexican oregano is more earthy, citrusy, and has hints of anise. Oftentimes if you need Mexican oregano and don’t have it, people would recommend using marjoram instead of Mediterranean oregano because the flavor profile of marjoram is closer to Mexican oregano.
