If students perform bad at school, whose mistake is it? (1 Viewer)

Sad but true. Iife is wonderfully unfair. I spend alot of time wondering if the nursery and pre school kids I use to teach are doing well, (some of the oldest would be ending secondary in a year or two) can be a daunting thought not knowing.

I honestly think that it's the students since teachers work so hard to teach their students what they need to know and the students just need to pay attention and apply it. Teachers are so underrated and deserve so much more. While some students are just fine, others can improve and try harder in the classroom setting.

if your teachers have a student like you, they are doing something well :) . they should indeed be praised!

It wont. Just gonna have to live with it and try harder. Personally i think that its the students fault in most cases cause they dont care enough or just arent trying enough.

I think it can be both sides

I’ve had some amazing teachers that went out of there way to help kids and the students just not putting in the effort. But I’ve also seen teachers that just throw a PowerPoint or piece of paper at kids and expect them to understand everything with little to no help.

yes but even those who don´t put enough effort deserve an understanding and a question needs to be asked "why are they not putting enough effort and what can be done to help them?"

Oh yes I 100% agree with that, that is something that needs to be properly addressed and helped.

can be a mixture, i had teachers who sucked and just didn't make an effort and didn't grade in time for me to make remedial adjustments for a passing grade. however at times I was lazy for the sake of being lazy, nothing more nothing less. you need to meet in the middle, teachers need to help students they see are struggling and students shouldn't just not study for the sake of not studying and make an effort to get help and study more if they need it.

I think that is the problem .why is it not enough for students to just attend school and study in class instead of having to work at home for extra hours? How can this be helped? Why should someone spend 6-8 hours somewhere AND coming home and study more. why are we not using those hours effectively?

I can understand homework because it's a learning environment. when you're working at a job it's mostly stuff you've learned from schooling so unless you have extra work, then you don't need to take it home since you already understand the fundamentals.

however, if you're spending an unreasonable amount on homework and you were struggling to understand the lessons in class even when paying attention, that's a problem on the teachers since they aren't reaching properly. I hope that makes sense?
