How will they be treated? Will they be beaten to a pulp by other offenders or will they be treated like kings & get out early or not go entirely?

What can we predict will happen when they get out? Will they change their names and go into hiding or will they try and work their way back up the ladder? Will people this evil become repeat offenders or will they have learned how evil their deeds were and genuinely change? Can people who have done such things change?

What will happen to their groups/close friends/family who are associated with them? Will they be dragged through the mud or will the GP give them a chance (group or offender)? Will you give them a chance (group or offender)?

I'm curious to know your thoughts.

Probably the latter, unfortunately, for the first one

Only the absolute idiots among them (most of them are idiots tho) will try and work their way up again

If their family say 'they didn't do anything wrong', they'll be dragged. It's likely they'll appear with them in court but maybe otherwise stay quiet.

I am very interested in hearing testimonies from family or bandmates/close friends. Will they claim the offender never indicated he was a certain way or will they admit to finding them strange, and that they aren't surprised? The whole situation is too chaotic at this point to tell which way it's going to go.

I don't think families have spoken out yet but their fans are saying similar things

hopefully they serve their time, learn their lesson, and never show up in the idol career again
it's for the best
Do you think that it's possible for them to lie low when they've displayed such greed and desire for power? Can they stay away?

I think that it will take an extreme experience to make them fully understand that what they did is WRONG and that they must make up for their actions.

I'm not sure how it is in foreign prisons, but in America, celebrities (that actually serve prison time) are usually kept in PC (protective custody) to avoid fights among other things. Their crimes don't really matter most of the time, but even those that do legitimate crimes and hard crimes are often seen as jokes to most inmates serving prison sentences. They're not hardened criminals, and are seen in essence as rich pushovers that can fill someone's commissary or be used as blackmail and bait for the rich connections outside the prison. Threats from gang members and individuals that are serving life for murder or other heinous crimes know they aren't getting out but know that the celebrities have rich connections outside the walls of the prison and, if threatened in the correct ways, can be coerced to supply the lifer's drug habits and lifestyles within the bars and outside of the bars with these riches and connections.

But, yeah, typically they are kept in PC for those reasons. They're high-profile inmates and are at risk for multiple reasons.
That's IF these slimeballs actually go to prison for their crimes, but I feel there might be some sort of loophole that prevents them - though simultaneously, some of them like JJY are really getting that short end of the stick they broke off (if you get my play on words in how much he dug his own grave), so there's a very real possibility he definitely will see prison time.

I hope that many can seperate the offenders from their family, friends (those that were never involved) and their group mates. Those group mates in FT ISland have already been said (from the offender himself) to not back his decisions nor support him in the least, and that they are highly upset with him - as most probably are at this point. Who wouldn't be? It's a disgusting thing, and selfish as Hell on so many levels.

I think it probably will take a lot of people time to get past the initial shock and disgust in all of this, and that many will have a tainted image of male idols now (and possibly forever) but I feel after some of the disgusting figures are no longer really talked about so much or see them plastered all over everything, that some of the overwhelming emotions might die down a bit and people might hopefully be able to see that not every male in the industry is a creepish pig with lewd tendencies or approaches to things. Some might never, and that's okay too.

A lot of the hype for second generation artists has fallen back a bit truthfully, mostly to fans and people that enjoy the familiar sound of the groups. They still have presence and are still groups that the GP tend to relate to, enjoy listening to, and probably (depending on their ages) have nostalgic moments while listening to the music from. I don't think that there will be a huge kibosh on male groups from second gen, even those with ex-members involved in these current cases, from GP of South Korea nor from most international fans - but I do think it will take a little time to move past the shock and disgust, as mentioned prior, that came from some figures people have seen for so long as chaste and average in behavior (if that makes sense).

On that note though, Seungri has had a rocky past in regards to his behavior and how he's presented himself (this MV and how the women are in it, not to mention the little kid turning into a young adult while going through his "Wonderland" after being given a key to the VVIP club, no pun intended, and how he has to seemingly talk about how much money he has and show how he's surrounded with women in quite a few MV's he's in of both his own and the group's - see Fantastic Baby) and clearly the members have mentioned to him DURING BROADCASTS that he needs to be more careful who he invests with and spends time with, who he does business with etc and have made numerous jokes about him being in trouble with the law before. JJY has already had a similar scandal occur regarding his exes and hidden cams, plus he's also had his moments of...well. This MV for starters.

I think so far the only two that weren't already showing a bit of a...not-so-wholesome facade to the public were from FT Island and CNBlue (correct me if I'm wrong, please, I liked their music but never really followed them closely to know much, especially in recent years); so those two were definitely people that I think really made it more real for fans and the GP in regards to the celebrities being linked in all of this that's currently going down and being put on the table. They are two individuals that I don't think many would expect to commit crimes, especially not such perverse and disgusting ones - and considering they've been in the business so long and so many people have been following them and looking up to them for that long, it's understandable even with how grotesque they acted and have shown to be that it will take some time for the shock and awe to kind of leave the system and people to get past that.

The future of the groups, so long as they are able to recover financially (because I don't think they will be coming back with anything soon, if they remain groups in light of these things happening with a member from the groups), is probably average. I think there is still a lot of support for the group as a whole (ie for FT Island or BigBang or CNBlue as a group - an image - a whole unit, individuals aside) and will be in the future.

I'm going to use SHINee as an example because....it's entirely different than this, but I was affected first hand and it's the best kind of image I can use in trying to explain.

SHINee lost a member, we are all aware of who, why, and how, and because of this loss and the physical missing presence of a person that made the unit whole, many left the fandom, left Kpop, and stopped listening altogether (not many because they didn't want to, but because it hurt too much). This will and likely has already happened with many fans of these groups now that these things have come out from a member of the groups. Fans might leave - they might not be able to enjoy the music now that it's missing a member (someone they've heard being part of the group for so long and seen together in MV's and other videos and photo shoots etc). They might not feel the group is whole anymore, or that even though understandably a member is gone, it still isn't fair and ruins the feeling of the group. They might leave simply because they don't want to support a group or a company where gross people unfortunately happened to linger and ruin it for others. But there will still be those that support the group no matter if it's missing two members or all but one.

Take EXO as well - plenty of people dropped off after the majority of China line left the group. But there were so many more that stuck around. The main difference of course in this, is that the group was fairly new still and gaining traction, and those that left the fandom were mostly only in it to enjoy the new novelty, or were fans of the members that left and let go of the rest of EXO to follow the leaving member(s). It changed the dynamic and sound of the group, but the group was still successful even without three members some of which had integral parts in most of the songs (at least in the China versions and in some of the Korea versions as well). In time, if the groups remain together, their "new sound" will become what is familiar and will in a way change how the old sound was (kind of; especially with members that aren't the main vocalists in the groups, the ones that left because of this current situation, their voices aren't missed as much because they were more in the background most of the time, and thus it becomes much easier to blend the other members' voices into "yeah that's how it's always been"). In the case of SHINee, of course, it won't ever be the same - but it's a new "normal" and still is SHINee, because it's still the group even minus one physical presence. But again, that's still very different, just one of the only things I could think of because I've actually gone through the turmoil of it and know it first hand.

I think things will just take time. The tragedy that happened in regards to Daesung and the car crash that took a life, accidental, was such a huge issue and for so long (and even still at times) plagued him and the group and the fans; but even something like that, most have moved past and acknowledge it happened but don't let it impact how they support the others and the group (and of course him as well, after many forgave due to the circumstance surrounding it etc). Time is just one of those things that many Kpop idol groups don't have, but hopefully for groups that have been around this long, it won't tear them entirely apart and leave a blemish on their legacies as second generation groups that made huge waves in the industry.

I can't appreciate this post enough, for the amount of depth and time you put into replying. Thank you.

Haha, I'm glad you appreciate it! Sorry it became a book. I just have a lot of thoughts about what is going on, and hadn't really had a platform or sat down to talk about it and what it means (possibly) for the future of the groups - you gave me that in and I took it ;)

i dont think jail time is enough. even faced with a jail sentence, they still seem to think that theyre not wrong and theyre somehow victims. im not one for death sentences but i think if they dont learn their lesson after this, killing them is the best way, whos to say they wont do it again after their sentences. hopefully no woman is insane enough to marry these scumbags.
