1. Billboard should not be something K-pop cares about. Perhaps the worst thing that happened in the last few years, is K-pop groups and their fans slowly starting to care about billboard charts.

2. ‘Overprotective’ fans are annoying. Who you trying to protect your faves from?? If anything your faves need protection from YOU.

• the "toxic fandom" thing is a bit pointless for the lack of a better word. fandoms are not organised groups, they just happen to be people who like the same music and the only reason why some fandoms are seen as more "toxic" than others is because they're bigger so naturally more seen and heard. for example a group of people where 6 people are good and 4 are bad is going to make less noise than a group where 1200 people are good and 800 are bad despite being the same percentage. at least now all the fandoms do is argue on twitter instead of having knife fights and trying to poison other idols...

LOONA's pre-debut music was where it was at and so was their earlier stuff and then it went down the toilet after their debut.

APRIL were victims of circumstances, not legitimate bullies (After writing this it doesn't make much sense but I mean they were put in pretty shit conditions at young ages and expected to cope properly without proper support systems-this goes for ALL the members) from what I can understand of the situation and the whole situation is fucked tbh.

BTS's English music makes them feel like sellouts (not saying they are sellouts it's just very shocking compared to how good a lot of their Korean music is).

MOMOLAND & Superjunior are the only groups to do International Collabs correctly.

I think the most controversal take I have in regards to something related to idols is that while I don't wholely agree on the laws of doing drugs however I do have to also say that idols who do break the law likely know what they are getting into with how strict Korea is on drugs so it is a risk they took in the end although with Koreas mental health issues its easy to see why someone might turn to drugs.

100% agree I haven’t bought kpop merch in my life but that dosent degrade how much of a Forever or Orbit I am.

There’s still other ways to support artists if you don’t buy merch (ie. streaming, telling other people about your faves, posting about them on social media). All these things give them more exposure.

line distributions are only fair when everyone gets the lines that fit their vocal range and role within the group, not when everyone gets the exact same amount. it doesnt make sense for a vocalist to get less lines than a dancer who's not particularly good at singing, or for high notes to go to lead vocalists who cant deliver that same note live consistently. this goes for performances too.

-kpop fans are so serious and uptight, and for what..for example there is a kpop club on my campus and if you want to enter you have to do a series of tests to prove you're a real kpop fan, and ever since I found out I haven't been able to get over it haha :")
-people have better stuff to buy and save for than albums and kpop merch, but that's not to say buying isn't okay and fun too as long as they're not judging those who don't
-and it's a shame for me when bts keep releasing english music, what made them charming loses out to their wanting to cater to the west
