depends on what you mean by bad egg. Lots of small groups are nothing but bad eggs

I guess with more members there is more chances for shit to hit the fan. Either by member doing sth bad or fans/public being idiots. However why I feel like scandals from big groups affect them less, it feels like it's easier to just put member on hiatus or cut them cause one particular member doesn't usually contribute that much. When in smaller group losing even one member can be devastating blow to whole group and something people will remember them by.
