Would you renew your contract? Or would 7 years be enough for you?
I know it really would depend on a lot of factors, but lets say in this scenario that your company treats you and your group well and things are going well in your career as an idol in general.

it depends

the main thing it depends on is how successful I was and how likely am I to get a better deal elsewhere...

I think everyone knows that the first contract is usually heavily slanted towards the company (even more so for nugu groups) why? because the company bears the financial risk of the debut

but depending on the successfulness of the group/individual - they have either more or less bargaining power when it comes to renegotiations

take BP for example - I'm sure the long negotiations were great for the members since they had more bargaining power relative to YG and could demand more thus the long drawn out period
or Twice where according to the discussion between chaeyoung and somi I would guess the current structure is 2/3 to the members and 1/3 to JYP post contract renewal
