i was in one relationship in the duration of my short life. im bored so ill answer both questions

how did you first meet your partner? when i was in 7th grade i downloaded this collecting game on my phone that had my favorite animal in it, cats. what i wasn't aware of, was that there was a new chat option for this game, so ofc i wanted to make some friends. this eventually led me into being in a little group chat in the game with friends. thats where i met her. we both had similar interests and she was one of my closest friends. thus, eventually becoming a crush. we didn't start dating until a year later, and even then it was online dating. we broke up after 7 months. i dont even think i actually liked her now that i think abt it. i think it was more of a looking up to someone type thing.

why do you think youre single? my strict parents play a big factor, but i guess also because i dont stand out in any way. this year has been the only year where ppl irl have openly liked me. like rn im choosing between two dudes like this the bachelorette or sum like hello?? i dont mean to sound narcissistic but ik ive got the looks, i js prefer to blend in

so this will be long, but basically i met my partner on an online chatting app !! i have social anxiety and hate speaking to people with my voice, and was dragged onto it by an extroverted friend against my will practically i refused to speak and kept my mic muted for the longest time, until i felt comfortable making my own lives to chat with people in !! and there was this one mysterious person who always came to my lives and made me giggle with their witty jokes and comments, but they never joined my voice chat for some reason, and that made me insanely curious they never missed my lives and gave me lots of in-app gifts, so i wanted to know more about them and to hopefully befriend and thank this mysterious person but then, one fateful day, they started their own very first live !! when i got the notification, i was so excited to finally hear their voice and to get to know them. i never tapped so fast. the moment i entered the chatroom, i was the only other person, and they noticed me. in a drowsy, soft voice they murmured something along the lines of "hi, welcome to my live, (insert my name here)" and i swear i melted and fell head over heels instantly. from there, my aforementioned friend joined the chat and the mystery person hit on me immediately. much to the chagrin of my friend, who shot them down for me. in my naivety, i said "i'm sure they didn't mean it like that", because social cues are hard and i didn't think they were flirting my normally shy butt decided to give them some of my socials for some reason, and we were officially dating after only a week of flirting (it worked for us, but please don't do this lmfao) 6 months later, they came from the other side of the country to move in with me. we hadn't even met yet face to face and i was terrified. but anyways, we met and moved in together on the same day into my apartment, and it was like we'd known one another our whole lives. we've been dating for almost 3 and a half years now and it's like a fairytale !!

I can def relate to the confusing admiration for a crush thing. It can be hard to work out what those feelings truly are in the moment.

Dw, you don't sound narcissistic. There's nothing wrong with liking how you look. I also understand your reasonings, but like you said, you are very young, so if you ever do want a relationship, you have plenty of time <3

oh boy, i completely agree with you !! i feel like normally they would giant red flags, and i would definitely not advise anyone to do what we did as it was logically unwise, but it just felt like it was meant to be from the start and they were the only person that had ever made me feel so safe !! so yeah ... don't do this at home but it worked for us for some reason. for once, thank god for being young and dumb, i guess

I met my fiancé when back in 2016. I was living in Korea at the time, and I was visiting my family in the UK and one of my uncle was having a house party and that when I was introduced to him. My husband happened to be his childhood friend. My grandfather and his parent happen to be friend as well . We got to know each other and didn't start dating until 2018.

I first met my fiancé back in 2008. I was in high school at the time, and he is 6 year older than me. We initially met because he was a karate instructor at a karate school that my younger siblings goes to. Later I found out that we actually had mutual friends. We weren't friend or close, but we did talk to each other when we see each other. We also friend on social media. Ngl I did think he was pretty cute. We did lose touch with one another due to him moving back to Canada and me moving to Korea.

Back in 2015 I was scrolling through one of my friend's following list on Insta and found him and follow him and he follow back. We would comment and like each other post, but we didn't talk or anything. And like back in 2022 I posted that I'm leaving Korea to move back to U.S. and he dm me, and that when we start chatting. He was already living in LA again, and so we did make a plan to hang out. I wasn't looking to date at the time and neither was he since he was a newly single father. After a couple time hanging out with each other, he asked me out. About two and a half years later, and we're engaged, planning to be married next month.
