What this plant is

For those who don’t know it’s poison ivy. Gives most people rashes and isn’t fun. But when we moved to the US none of us knew about it. So my parents had no issue with us rolling around in it until we got rashes all over and the doctor explained it to them

I don't think california has a lot of poison ivy. Mainly poison oak so I would have gotten covered too.

Poison ivy isn't the most harmful plant exactly. But unless you want an itchy rash that lasts far too long it's also better to avoid it. And especially better to not roll around in

And if I'm correct about what csalan is we have plenty here too, it's called nettle/stinging nettle. Given my experiences with both of them I'd actually much much rather get stung by nettle than get a rash from poison ivy.

I can’t think of anything for the place I live now but I know when my family moved to Korea I would have really appreciated if someone warned us about how comfortable they are with being crowded super closely to one another. It can be quite terrifying being a tiny 11 year old squished in a bus or elevator with strangers brushing up against you because your that close to each other.
Honestly it would probably still bother me now but at least I know what to expect.

Isn't that a thing in the US in crowded cities too?

Probably quite a lot of big cities in general, though I'm certain there's places where that's not true.

That’s true. The only major city I’ve been to outside of Korea is Seattle and I didn’t experience that. Maybe in New York or something it’s like that, I avoid big cities.
