If it was sudden, i'd think it's more likely that she will make recovery though? First thing that came to my mind is back problems, like my father has those and has had periods he can't walk at all, but then goes back to normal week or two later.. I hope they figure out what is going on with ur mom though, but I wouldn't automatically think it's sth that won't pass or can't be treated? I wish best for ur mom though.

yeah, my mom has chronic arthritis, so it's not anything new, some days she can't even get up out of bed, but she can always walk. to not be able to walk freaked her out so much.
