One thing I always hated was how she just never seemed to genuinely care about my problems. She wonders why I never tell her about my problems but she either downplays it or makes it about herself. I tell her that I feel down or depressed "Yeah me too" and she'll proceed to go on a tirade about HER personal problems. When I told her my mom berated me and made me bawl in tears on multiple occasions she has the audacity to say I "may be misinterpreting her intentions and that she means well most of the time" The same mother that took my things away for months for no reason and told me we'd be better of never moving or the mother that screamed at me for having a period blood stain on my bed or the mother that told me I'm constantly being shameful? Yeah, for sure

You deserve a much better family that actually cares about you, and relationships where your partner actually loves and prioritizes you. I'm sorry you had to deal with them, but happy that at least they're an ex and you don't need to worry about still being with them. I hope you find someone much better soon. Not to be like your ex and make this about myself, but I think I get it, at least to an extent. I also have a lot of family drama and troubles, and it boiled my blood whenever anyone tried to downplay it to any degree, for any amount of time, and if I had someone who acted like your ex did, I would be livid.
