I am born in a conservative country so my aunts started asking me abt marriage when i took a freaking gap year. Am i supposed to be doing smth all the time? I left the country anyway so now they are relieved im doing something and dont have access to me.

I recently saw a talk about the topic if getting children is selfish and most ppl said 'yes'.

it's mostly parenting nowadays. Parents and their kids have become so entitled.
my mom was a kindergarten teacher and every year it kids and parents got worse and worse. The last few years she spent before a class, kids were either the new Einstein, autistic, or whatever else parents could think of.
Raising your kids? Nah.
She escaped the madness and now just helps children with real disabilities who struggle in class.

well that too, but it was more about the climate change and enviromental issues children will face in the future.
and in the first place the unborn child isnt asked if it wants to be born, so its always selfish to have children to begin with.

i think it's cuz millenials are the current gen of parents so
1) in my area, parents go more for their career than their family, so the kids get dropped of to the grandparents or camps (which I find cruel. If you don't want/are able to care for kids, don't have them)
2) the kids aren't even allowed to be bored. They need to be constantly thrown stuff to do instead of trying to figure out activities themselves
3) millenials mostly go for the soft approach cuz they were treated fairly harsh by their parents

i think those are the main reasons

I have heard a lot about gentle parenting too. Also i agree my nephew always needs some new activity and he doesn't play by himself. Which shouldn't be a problem per se, but he has a lil sister now who wont be able to play with him and will take my bro's and sil's attention from playtime a bit, so he needs to adapt sooner or later.
