Going into surgery not being sure what the surgeon is doing. According to one of the workers who was at the hospital asking me questions that’s a common thing

Because one of those is terrifying. The other seems normal. Surgeons are specialists, so the other employees probably don't need to know the details.

No like the patient doesn’t know what’s being done to them. So either the doctor didn’t explain it well enough to them or it went in one ear and out the other for the patient

I haven't have a serious surgery yet; but the times I got surgery, I knew well what'd going to happen.

I have had that happen but it's because I was very young, but I remember seeing on Reddit (I think?) an English teacher in a 3rd or 4th tier city in China that had no English teachers had to get his appendix removed. No one in the hospital could speak English or knew anyone in the city that could, so one of the nurses drew 3 pictures back to back which were the sun, a knife, and blood to tell him that he was having surgery in the morning.

Okay that’s fair, when I got my mole removed when I was little I don’t remember if I understood the implications of what was happening. But if you’re an adult you should probably know what’s going on before surgery if possible

That's scary. I asked multiple questions to the person who is supposedly going to do my gallbladder surgery after my heart situation is figured out.

Me neither, I wouldn’t agree to an unknown surgery. As off put as I am by the thought that they just rearranged my knee I would be more off put by the not knowing what in my body was going to change at all

Exactly, that’s just scary.
I’m one of those people who want all the little details.
