True or not, the majority of Western Dark Side of Kpop is othering orientalist nonsense. They won't draw the connection between the training system that exists for children in kpop and children in ballet or gymnastics. In some sports the bodily trauma (yes, I'm calling it that) is so intense that it stunts long term growth and delays puberty. There have been reports of the latter happening deliberately through blockers.
To say nothing of the, "gosh there are sexual predators in kpop" as if we haven't witnessed an ever turning carousel of abusers being outed in Western media, long after their long career of abuse.
Imagine if the Lady Gaga and Kesha accusations against music producers happened in Korea. Imagine the tone of the reporting.

Like yeah, we all need to take better care of our children, but these articles aren't about that. They're about making foreign media uniquely sinister.
