I never knew that you weren't *supposed* to say "You're not alone"... but then, I suck at reading between the lines, so I'm probably missing something big lol“You should never tell anyone that ‘You are not the only one suffering’, ‘Everyone’s like you’, or ‘If you have the courage to die, you can live’.
Physical scars and psychological scars are different.
I hope everyone can think for a second that scars exist even if you can’t see them.”
It’s not necessarily a bad thing to say, it depends on the context and tone. If you’re saying it in the sense of you don’t need to feel isolated that’s okay ish depending on the person, but if you’re saying it in a “you don’t have it that bad, other people have it worse so just suck it up”, that’s where the issue is. The thing is “you’re not alone” is people not knowing that’s a bad thing to say, but some people do think “tough love” is the way to go and that’s a common argument for those who try the tough love route, either because they care but don’t understand the connotation, or they don’t really care and think the persons being dramatic or whatever and that they don’t have actual problems. Tbh I’d just say if you’re not sure about whether it’s appropriate in the context it’s best to just steer clear of that type of phrase though.I never knew that you weren't *supposed* to say "You're not alone"... but then, I suck at reading between the lines, so I'm probably missing something big lol

“Trust me, you’re doing good in something. Even if it’s something really small, believe me, you’re doing good at something.”
