Since this scandal directly deals with drugs, prostitution, rape and corruption, I'd say it's the biggest KPOP scandal ever. As for Korea as a whole, it's the biggest one since the presidential scandal in 2016, for sure.

However, I'd say yes: today I posted how Big3 companies' stocks all dropped.
SM's stocks are the lowest this year right now because of the fear that more companies are involved.
There's a butterfly effect right now: stockholders don't trust the music business.

So yes, it is because it has to biggest impact on the industry and all companies as a whole

It's lot bigger than Park Bom's or Kim Hyung Joong's. It doesn't only involve one idol, but so far 4 idols of popular groups have left their groups, went to hiatus or left the industry and there is also JJY. More idols might follow, some are under a fire of their comments like Zico. And this might threaten their groups too, especially Big Bang it seems. Also kpop companies especially YG are facing difficult time and accusations, YG especially had drastic stock fall. Then there is stuff involved in this like bridery of high police officials, prostitution, rape and drugging women.. who even knows how high up all this goes. This is touches not only whole kpop industry at the moment, but korean society.

Don't compare these two cases with the current ongoing crime. What Seungri and JJY did is far more worse.
Bom's "drug scandal" wasn't even a real scandal. Media and hobbyless Bom Haters made it to one.

I think you'd have to be crazy to say that this isn't the biggest scandal yet. Idols are being exposed left and right, god knows how many more are to be exposed, or just how big this whole thing was. We're only getting a glimpse.

Tbh this scandal is so big it goes beyond kpop. It's just a straight up nation wide scandal.
