Versus shredding it yourself. I taste no difference - am I the weird one? ​

Cheese is chesse no matter how its sold. Different varieties of cheese taste different but not different cuts imo

Usually fresher food is fresher Like I wouldn’t want an apple slice that’s been sitting for 5 days over a fresh apple slice. Cheese isn’t as drastically different but different enough. Pre shredded also have things added that fresh cheese doesn’t, so that may be why I find it so much drier and staler tasting, not sure if that’s the sole reason or if it’s just stale in comparison too. To me they’re miles apart. I think it’s also pretty known that the things added to pre grated cheese mess with the cheeses ability to melt properly, it’s not always noticeable but sometimes it is.
