Regardless of gender it’s not ‘nice’ to rebut someone in that way. Nobody likes their sexuality being trivialized, whether heterosexual or homosexual or other

What's trivializing it? It's clearly a joke response but delving into the bigger issue of peoples perception on sexuality I find it just as damaging to hyper focus on sexuality like some people do nowadays for example how many people know Holland as anything other than being a homosexual Kpop singer? You've gone from one extreme to the other where someone isn't being belitted for their sexuality and are instead only being focused on because of their sexuality when regardless of someones sexuality, gender or race it should be their talent, skills and personality that wins you over ultimately whether it's a celebrity or someone in real life.

People love using the “but but the context” excuse for everything but the fact is people can still get their feelings hurt over “jokes”, whether it’s directed at them or not. How many times have LGBTX people endured condescending comments and insults at their expense? Especially with negative connotations about things being gay said as a “joke”.

And like how Holland gets dismissed as being nothing more than his sexuality because he has a same sex couple in his MV. Yet nobody says anything about groups doing the same “I love oppa” or “I wannabe your man” concepts all the time. How come it’s only the gay idol who gets criticized for being obsessed with his sexuality but not the apparently heterosexual ones?
