A student ARMY was threatened of being r*ped after someone saw her with a BTS bag and there have been many cases of violence against Bangladeshi ARMYs.

This is so terrfying and disgusting. No one should ever be put in that position just because they like a particulat musical group.

I hope someone find those people and put them in Jail and I hope that girl gets some protection. Its so scary to even think about it.

Honestly I'm not even surprised. Everyone insists we take all allegations made on Twitter as fact and believe "victims" above all else, what did everyone think was going to happen? More and more we're seeing cases of people lying about sexual harassment, rape, and assault on social media, with almost zero consequences for those caught. Even after this has now happened many times in many different genres, people STILL demand we believe the victims without any evidence, because they'd rather create new victims than admit that yes, some people DO lie about serious topics such as this. We have to balance listening to victims with not passing judgement based on hearsay, because until there is evidence, no one knows the truth. Also when you're part of a fandom that's a giant, "Waaaah everyone hates us!" victim mentality echo chamber, of course you'll have people exploiting that insecurity for attention.

A lot of fans take kpop WAY too seriously these days, making it every part of their personality and existence, this is just an extension of that. At the end of the day, this is still just music and nothing that anyone should be that emotionally manipulative about. Music is supposed to be art, an escape, expression. Too many people making these groups and their lives as fans the center point of their very existence, to the point of delusion. Log off, go outside, take a break. If you find yourself making up harassment or crimes perpetrated against you, all for the attention of strangers who happen to like the same music as you, you need to see a mental health professional because that is neither normal nor healthy in any way.

The things people do for clout... smfh! Back in 2019, a girl accused Michael Clifford (the guitarist of 5 Seconds of Summer) o sexually assaulting her... except not only was it not true, but there weren't even any such goings on - this bitch did it for clout! We 5SOS fans were literally jumping down each other's throats about whether to believe Michael or the victim. and I even lost a Twitter moot because of it. Oh, and the icing on the cake? It damn near ruined the band's career because people were canceling them left and right! Obvs they're fine now, but shit like this gets me fucking LIVID!

So yeah, at least she wasn't targeting one of the members. Still no excuse, though.
