It's time for companies to protect idols from toxic comments on SNS (1 Viewer)

It's discouraging and worriesome to watch some of my favs accounts on IG and Twitter. Especially NJ, where there are spammers commenting disgusting stuff to them on every post lately. Seriously, why don't the company start filter many of the words being used over and over again? And I honestly hope many groups leave Twitter, because it's a shait show after Musk took over.

True, but what they should then push the heavy button of suing is filter many of the toxic words many of the spammers are using on their account, It won't eliminate all bad ones, but many will disappear.

Shit’s tough trying to moderate every live video and social media post posted by every idol. Even with people looking into it you’ll get degenerates slipping through the cracks no matter what

I wouldn't worry too much because ever since 2012 when T-Ara's scandal blew up, the freedom of idols' to access social media access has been curtailed significantly, so they probably are only using it in the presence of company staff & their manager. It may be very disheartening to see as a fan, but the idols likely never see those comments on social media.

However, Twitter is an American company & our freedom of speech laws protect hate speech no matter how disgusting the content provided it does not amount to a viable personal & direct threat. Even if you implemented speech filters to block out certain speech, people will figure out how to say the same phrase in a different manner that is less vulgar, but means the same thing like "Let's Go Brandon!"

It's impossible to monitor social media 24/7. Do you really think labels have infinite resources [ time, new employees, money ] to chase after every person who comments negatively?

The ONLY solution to this is for social media companies to disappear.
Even then there will probably be similar companies made by the original CEOs almost immediately.

Unless someone has the ability to Thanos snap them out of existence.

I agree, it's difficult but what I notice with many of the toxic comments are using are emojis like middle fingers, pukes or mentioning a certain group that I see 90% of the times on NJ account for example. If the account can filter those words and emojis as spam, it can reduce at least 40% of these spam comments away.
