On October 18, IU’s agency Kakao M issued a statement regarding legal action it is taking against malicious comments and rumors.

Read the statement below:

"Hello. This is IU’s agency Kakao M.
Our company has determined that there is a serious level of libel, sexual harassment, and personal attacks occurring through thoughtless malicious comments and the spreading of false rumors about our artist IU, and therefore we are taking legal action.
We inform you that we have collated related materials through continued monitoring and the collection of material submitted by fans, and on October 14 we filed a first criminal complaint to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office through a legal representative. In addition, we are preparing to file an additional criminal complaint.
In the future as well, we will be taking strong action without negotiation or lenience in regard to malicious libel and we will continue to try to eradicate thoughtless malicious comments.
Thank you."

I feel so bad for IU. She’s lost two friends in the span of a couple years. To all her haters: IU has written multiple songs for Sulli, a dear friend, and even invited her to be the first to hear her music. The Red Queen summarizes how close they were and how much IU loved Sulli and hated the way people talked about her.
