IVE - Either Way, Baddie, Off The Record thoughts (1 Viewer)

tl;dr I liked all 3
IVE is like a fine wine. They have some classy songs, dance heavy vibes happening. They have been impressing me ever since Love Dive and they’ve never let go of their style and eventually putting out their full album I HAVE which was done so well. I liked it at first, but not totally vibing with it. Again, they are a fine wine. Your taste becomes accustomed and now I think that album is one of the best releases in a loooong while.

anyways, either way. The letter to their haters. Either way they are good, no matter what comes at them. Its good. I think the MV is the big highlight here because we haven’t seen IVE being vulnerable yet. IVE vocals can carry a lot of things I think they have good sounding voices and it fits with their style of music.

Baddie. I dont know what the consensus is for this song, but I liked it. It went down the Kitsch lane where its harder hitting, less classy. I love the performance I think its a fun song to watch and also the styling for everyone for Baddie is


Off The Record. I think this is the best out of the three even though its very reserved for a title track but its soooo IVE. They’re so good at doing songs like this more so than anyone else I feel. The english parts its a highlight for me as well as how the song escalates as you listen to it similar to Me Now from fromis_9 where more instruments come in later on.

This mini album is very good.

I never had that wine experience with them, I thought the IVE I'VE album was super great from the start

I also think Off the record is the best title track from the new album, Either way way okay, Baddie.. I wish they do not make songs like that anymore. I really liked about IVE, that they did not follow along the same style many of the other groups are doing now, that really set them apart

The short of it: for me:
Either way - Damn. the feels. so good
Off the record - Dunno why but I like it! Sister song to Either way.
Baddie - definite grower. Looked like a goblin from the start but I just needed to wash off the dirt lil by lil in my head

As in its not hard hitting, not bass heavy. I think for a title track a group sometimes goes balls to the wall but IVE never does that which has been their identity since debut.

Kitsch was like girlcrush but it wasn’t a title track. I AM is energetic but idk I guess what I meant is that IVE has a sound to them thats more laidback, classy, expensive, rather than in your face, overly produced, bass heavy. I just call what they do subtle and classy cause idk how else to describe it. They sound like IVE lol

Whatever the case, no I think IVE sounds perfect and their sound is something thats missing currently.

you should izone's music is great (some of it is great)
I think they do fill part of the niche left behind by izone - I'm not sure with regards to WJSN never got into them...
they are very talented members indeed

I don't think its relating to a specific concept, I just do not like those super repetitive and monotonous songs

Other recent examples would be Cake by Itzy or ETA by NewJeans
