Hello! So, I joined a dating app back in January. Not to worry, I’m staying very safe and using it cautiously. Anyway, I found someone on there not too long ago that I really like and things are going great between us. Since I like K-Pop so much, at some point, I started recommending him K-Pop songs I really liked. I sent him a few different kinds, but out of the first three that I sent him (I think it was Feel My Rhythm, Love Dive and The Sound) his favorite was Love Dive. In fact, he loved it so much that he said it was stuck in his head days later, especially the chorus/the “Narcissistic” part. You can only imagine how happy hearing that made me, and I’m not even a Dive (but I do love their songs a lot).
Well, a few days later, I decided that since he liked Love Dive so much, I should suggest him more songs from IVE, so I linked him IVE’s two other title tracks and explained that these were from the same group who made Love Dive. He listened to them both, and I forget what, if anything, he said about Eleven, but he LOVED After Like. He said it is his new favorite song from the group and he really likes it. He even got sad when I mentioned that IVE only has six songs so far and he basically listened to half of them. He also said that out of all the groups I showed him, he thinks IVE is his favorite so far.
Not too long ago, I figured that if he liked IVE’s title tracks so much, I should introduce him to their B-Sides, so I sent him all three of their B-Sides. He said that their B-Sides didn’t seem as bubbly as their title tracks, but he liked how they used a bunch of unique sounds in them and didn’t seem to have any real complaints about them. I can still tell he preferred their title tracks between the two though.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this story of how I accidentally turned a guy I met on a dating app into a Dive. Not only that, but he really likes Love Dive and After Like (but does prefer After Like between the two). If we’re still talking by the time IVE come back again, I definitely plan to share whatever new song they release with him so we can gush over it together. I hope our relationship goes well (but it seems like it will) and that we can spend many long days together loving IVE’s music. Happy Valentine’s Day and have a great day/night!
