I've been saying this for a long time now, is is ABSURD Bighit isn't getting vocal teachers for them! IT IS ABSURD!
And ARMY are not only allowing it but also encouraging this behaviour by getting defensive and callin ppl haters if anybody so much as MENTIONS BTS needing a vocal teacher.

Hmm i'm sure he had vocal practice and coaching but maybe it was a bit different from proper 1 on 1 vocal training, there's also a possibility the guy telling the story left out some details or Jungkook wasn't 100% clear when messaging him so the story that got told was a little exaggerated from real life just to make an interesting story.

I don't know what to think about this.
On the other hand I think Jungkook was once giving advice to Jimin about his voice so it wouldn't make sense to have zero knowledge.

I think at one point they said they are looking things up and learning on their own.

They’re the biggest boy group in the world and big hit can’t provide them with actual vocal teachers? Everyone needs a vocal coach, even the most famous singers like ariana grande, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey etc all still have vocal coaches that they train with. It’s impressive that they’ve gotten this far without having a main vocal coach to help them out but cmon... how hard is it to find a good vocal coach? It’s not like they lack the money.

It's actually not that difficult to teach yourself how to sing. There's a lot of mysticism surrounding singing, I think, but when you cut to the actual heart of it, it's not impossible. I think the most difficult parts of it are pitch-training and not straining your voice, keeping it relaxed, but that's still doable. Of course, vocal-teachers are still important. But if the person is a diligent self-learner, they'll get it.

That said, I think, because there is a lot of mysticism surrounding singing, some people do take advantage of that and lie about not having any training just to seem like more of a "badass." So there's also that. But there are some legitimately good self-taught singers out there too.
As a singer myself who hasn't been able to afford a vocal coach, I think the main issue with teaching yourself how to sing is that you sound a lot different in your head than you do irl. Since you hear your voice not only travelling just through the air like you do with other people, you're also hearing it vibrate literally through yourself to get to your ears too so you hear a much warmer and deeper sound than anyone else hears. Because of this it's sometimes hard to hear things clearly like you don't notice any mistakes you made in a run if you've never heard yourself back, because it sounds fine to you, but actually if you hear yourself from the perspective of someone else then the mistakes are a lot clearer. This is why recording yourself and listening back is so important so then you also train yourself to hear your voice as if it wasn't reverberating through yourself if that makes sense? Since the members all have each other to give each other feedback on this, and they also record their own covers i'm sure they can use that to teach themselves just fine and a vocal coach would mainly just be to literally just polish everything off, though i'd still say that it was worth their time to get one seeing as they are singers after all.

I kept saying ths for years now: big hit needs to think for the good of the boys. they need top vocal coaches that will help them fine tune their gift even more and preserve their lovely voices.
