I had no idea who Jonathan Bailey is/was but I watched it earlier this week, n then I read abt him n Pedro Pascal being an Internet meme a few days ago n I'm happy he's getting viral. He was surprisingly (to me) real(as real as a dinosaur movie can be anyway. The fantasy of dinosaurs/dinosaur obsessed companies was rlly grounded(I think) by his performance in much the same way I think The last Planet of the Apes n the live action How to Train Your Dragon movies were(Lilo n Stitch not so much for me).

The run time unlike F1 n other recent movies I watched in the cinema wasn't overlong(nor did I sleep thru most of the last hour like I did How to Train Your Dragon) so I think the groundedness is fantasy of Dinosaurs was masterfully done compared to last 3 Jurassic World movies, story wise n performances were I think leaps n bounds even above first Jurassic Park, which I believe I saw in cinema(only the cgi/sfx for its time were rlly revolutionary, the story beats of the humans/acting were just slightly above or mediocre-which means not below or above average, it doesn't mean bad or good, at least I think so but it's been 10/15/20 or more yrs since iv seen Jurassic park I think.)

I thought it brought back what was so likable about the very first Jurassic Park

Whereas this one at least was throwback to Jurassic Park 2(which I think were also money grabs as was Rebirth) but at least the Bailey character was refreshing n Scarjo, Mahershala Ali n the others were all good whereas JW1, 2,3 all had sub par performances even from Judy green who I usually love(but the script/story gave her good bits 😉)

Not sure which movie u meant here but other than JP1 I hvnt noted the music except for the iconic John Williams bits from the first movie which gets me the feels when I notice it in the new(-er/est) movies. It's nit the music which I notice but the dinosaurs!

you get who you can in those ones

it was just background for me and that's it

i tend to have a basic taste when it comes to actors so the "internet boyfriend" kind of ones tend to be among my favourites as i genuinely enjoy their on screen presence - especially when you compare jonathan to the previous dinosaur movie lead chris pratt who has the charisma of a cardboard box

haven't seen it yet but i hope to see it this week! i've heard the reviews that it's at least entertaining and imo that's enough, because the previous jurassic world movies were boring and predictable, with the last one being a complete snoozefest which was relying on the IP to sell tickets rather than genuinely connecting to the story.

yup, that one! it was absolute crap if you ask me. almost no dinosaurs in sight, introducing characters no one really cares about plus some weird storyline about a girl who's related to them??? or whatever that was. they really lost the plot and i'm not surprised no one liked that movie.

that storyline was pathetic and confusing

Dominion seemed similar to Transformers Last Knight, they overextended the franchise/IP stretched past watever the 1st movie(s)/second set of movies(JW/TF AoE) set up of the story's continuation. I lost interest after TF LK, when I mighta been interested in Bumblebee solo movie for Hailey Steinfeld but nope, too diluted for me-when I just watched TF for big dumb action(n maybe originally a little for Megan Fox).

JW Rebirth combined dinos, terror, ScarJo n even human concerns beyond dinos eating people or surviving past extinction. Not profound but I found it compelling/I was invested in ScarJo/Jonathan Bailey's ultimate resolution of the dino research question at the end of the movie. N I liked ScarJo from when she was younger, not as early as the Horse Whisperer which I only watched the trailers/preview clips, but in ghost world n lost in translation before she was a superstar in the MCU n thereafter.

JW 1 had an actual story complete in and of itself which was similar to JP 1 - build, open and destroy a dino resort. JP 2 n 3 kinda, sorta pulled from MC(Michael Chrichton)'s books/lead actors in JP 1 story arcs n completed a trilogy. JW fallen kingdom n Dominion just pulled stuff out of their &ss*s for non story/characters tat were flat with no compelling reason to be in the movies imo. Chris Pratt was fine in JW 1 but showed he had no movie star quality playing Owen Grady with the limited acting skills he had/has(he basically played the same persona with few variations in the movies iv seen him in, depends on the script n director to successfully buy into his character/arc/story eg Super Mario movie). Dominion just had no reason to exist other than earn a $billion dollars for all involved, tho I think the actors earned little of tat $billion(except maybe Chris pratt).

Scarjo earned every cent of her payday on JW Rebirth(along with Jonathan Bailey n the main cast, Mahershala Ali n Garcia Rulfo)!

Idk exactly how old u r or ur general knowledge, but yeah ppl(including me) will gobble up any crap, but it's not just these days. To paraphrase Karl Marx: "Mass culture is (now) the opiate of the masses"(including me, iv gone to watch movies or watched TV just to hv sthg to do for a few hrs outside work/sleep/rest time in the past 25 yrs, it seems like. Actual books/comics/shows I actually rlly Anticipate/rlly Want to read/watch/listen to songs(concerts/perfs by my faves I could afford to go to n attend) in past 25 yrs or so seems shockingly low in numbers tho I dint think so from 2001~2017; just tat past 8 yrs skewed the percentage to low enuf tat I noticed (due to budget/being broke n no interest/cash to buy/attend too expensive kpop concerts/fan meets since I started being into kpop in 2018!

because the prior ones excluding 1 2 and 3 of the originals were nonsense
