yeah i'd wager it is tbh, and not much to do with the scandal really (though i could be wrong). irene is a lead dancer and a really very pretty visual, but (a) seulgi's the main dancer so she's better by a notch (b) while irene may have stunning visuals and be a great stan attractor, so are winter and karina - who debuted much more recently, so they're the "hot issues" now. more profitable that way tbh and (c) irene is the main rapper of her group - but got the beat already have hyoyeon and karina - frankly enough rappers for a group of 7 (superm had too many... well actually they didn't. they had two rappers and a dozen who could just talk on the beat). if a song demanded more raps, any of the others could be called to talk on the beat.
