More and more are debuting under age. It’s always a cycle:

1. minor idols from small company debuts

2. they get success so kpop fans get angry that they have minors

3. kpop fans protest but the group is successful so the company doesn’t care

4. kpop fans swear it’s the last time they will support a group with minors

5. big company debuts group with minors

6. kpop fans just have to quietly accept because it’s from a big company

7. cycle repeats

Kpop fans will have to put their money where their mouth is otherwise the amount of minors debuting will NEVER stop

The ability of fans to boycott such global industry is moot. Even if dedicated fans have organized and start campaigning for others to withhold their funds too, there are millions of other customers who either did not get the message, think its ok, or actively encourages the boycotted action.

Moreover, the practice of scalping ensures that there are people still in the business for money and money only. If someone manages to snag a rare album due to a boycott, it stands to reason that 1, the company has been paid for that album and 2, The scalper will see value in buying more.

To effectively boycott a multinational industry it take an astronomical effort to not only get the message out there but also convince people to not fold and buy the product in multiple countries, communities, and across many different cultural upbringings. Either that or by some act of god a politician manages to be convinced to tariff or ban the import of said album or other vehicle of sales.

Its difficult to say but by and large, even modestly sized companies are highly resistant to boycotts if their group or even other concurrently active group even has an ounce of international fame.
