You adored Yugyeom with every fibre of your being. But you adored his kisses even more. Each time he got embarrassed, but they were just as sweet. The first time he kissed you was under the big tree in front of your apartment. You both were drunk, young, and dumb, but it was sweet nonetheless, his lips finding yours as he walked you home.
You avoided each other for almost a month after that, until you found him waiting outside your apartment door with an insanely large bouquet of flowers that he presented to you with a sneeze. You didn’t know what to do with it, letting Yugyeom into your apartment and directing him to put them in your bathtub. Honestly, why did he get one that big?
But it was then he turned around, hands wet with flowery water, and took you into his arms, pressing one more kiss against your lips. And then another. And one more for good luck. It was easy to fall for him after that. Those first few times he kissed you may have been a spur of the moment on his part–you didn’t get as many as easily after that moment–but that just made them even more memorable.
Yugyeom kissed you once again on your first year anniversary, under the tree in front of your building complex once more. “For good luck,” he said, as you moved all your stuff into his apartment.
It certainly was good luck. Anything Yugyeom did for you was like your good luck charm. You sought his affection, and though he didn’t give it easily, he always would be soft for you. Kisses on your lips were rare, but he gave multitudes of them on your cheeks, on your shoulders, anywhere he could.
The next time he kissed you was when you were at the hospital, having gotten into a minor crash with a drunk driver. Yugyeom had rushed to the hospital as fast as he could legally, running into your room even before you realised he was on his way. He had crushed his lips onto yours then, the kiss full of promises and wishes and dreams that you wouldn’t tell for the sake of privacy.
Then, once, he kissed you when you were play-wrestling. You don’t even know why; it was unlike him. One moment you were sitting on his chest in victory (you still think he let you win), and the next, he leaned forward making you slide into his lap, and pressed his lips against yours. You sat there in his lap for a full minute, just confused, but he offered no explanation other than a smile and a wink. Then you were back to wrestling.
After that day, Yugyeom was freer with his kisses. He still held back, but sometimes, when you least expected it, he’d wrap his arms around your waist, leaning around and pressing a kiss to the corner of your mouth. You loved the extra attention, but you did wonder why. Did he break something you liked? All your favourite vases were still intact.
You asked him one day, but once again, he just smiled and winked again. God, he was so annoying. But then he just pulled you out the door one evening, taking you to some random field. You were extremely confused, understandably, but he just smiled, winked, and pointed to the sky.
A meteor shower. He had taken you all the way out here for a meteor shower. While it was nice, you could have gotten a better view on top of the rooftop of your apartment building. You turn to scold him teasingly, but instead, you tear up. Yugyeom has one knee on the ground and a ring in his sweaty hands. You don’t respond, just joining him on the ground, and this time, you initiated the kiss. He tries hard not to drop the ring, but your hands are woven in his hair and you’re melting into him and his centre of gravity is lopsided.
The grass is wet from yesterday’s rain, but neither of you notices, too busy wrapped up into each other. The ring is gorgeous, but Yugyeom is even more so, smiling under the starlight. You can’t help yourself but kiss him one more time for tonight. He laughs, gently pushing you off, and then frantically looking for the ring since he dropped it. It was found easily but Yugyeom was annoyed since it was muddy, so the two of you made your way back to the apartment rather quickly.
Until now, for as long as you’ve known Yugyeom, he had only kissed you almost seven times. But each time was just as special as the last, no matter the reason, and there was a promise of more with each one.
