For example, don’t the following words remind you of something? Septem, octo, novem, and decem. They mean 7, 8, 9, and 10 in Latin, and sounds like the months September-December. Knowing the Latin root, it’s immediately clear why the 9th-12th months are named that way right?

Yep, January-June are for Roman gods/culture, July and August are for Julius Caesar and Augustus, and September-December are from numbers

Latin is such a cool language cause like not only can read on texts that were written 3000-1000 years ago but it's still getting updated and modernised. Like people still speak it and there words for phone, computer, etc. It's still evolving and omfg I love Latin and I love studying it

I learnt about July, August, September, October, November and December moths being named after Caesar & Augustus, and the moving the 7,8, 9 & 10th months to 9th, 10, 11th n 12th months from a kids/teensystery book I read yrs ago-the mystery had sthg to do with either Augustus or August the month, but because the months changed because of Augustus/Juliys Caesar, the clue was unsolved until the book's teen hero(-es) went to the library n read about it.(I forgot the specifics as its been yrs since i last read it/ cant rmbr the deets)

So learn Latin to solve fictional Mysteries!(ofc nowadays just go on internet/reddit or Discord n someone could just tell u the answer!)
