KPop teasers that had you more hype than the actual song (1 Viewer)

Kpop teasers are some of the most enjoyable parts of the genre for me, all the hype and excitement that comes with waiting for group comebacks and that little snippet of song and dance you get in the teaser always has me perched
But sometimes things are not as they seem and we get baited

Starting with an old favorite of mine



When this teaser first dropped I thought Cupid was going to be THE song of 2015 and was met with bitter disappointment at the lackluster song that was Cupid
I still go back to this teaser and wonder what could have been... There's never been another group like Kara and I sure hope one of these 200 GGs debuting this year will try to fill that empty space

Another legendary group with a teaser that had me quaking



The build up was incredible and I was thirsty to see what kind of bop Wonder Girls were finally coming back with... but we got another dated retro song (which was lowkey a bop but still) that sounded like a B-side at best

Now moving onto recent times, this teaser by one of my current favorite GGs



I thought it was just the backtrack without the singing layered over it and don't get me wrong, while I do enjoy this song but it turned out incredibly repetitive and not at all the mindblowing experience BBC chalked it up to be
With that said I do still believe Loona is gearing up to be something really special in the kpop industry and can't wait to see what they do next

So KS, what teasers did you enjoy only to find the final track to be something other than what you expected?​

I was honestly more disappointed because I was so hyped for WG's first teaser for that comeback.

Damn... Idol actually sounded like it had potential in that teaser

As much as I've gotten used to their title by now I kinda hoped more from seeing all their pre-debut stuff.

I agree with @Adu almost completely (thank you for introducing me to Dreamnote) these girls could dominate a girl crush or sexy concept. Their choreography is amazing as is their presence on stage. Instead they debut with a boring cutesy concept that just sounds like 50 other gg's. I really hope they change concepts for their comback because 3rd gen gg's doing boring cutesy concepts are a dime a dozen right now.

I think they'll probably wait for each of the member to be 18 to have a fully sexy concept at least, not earlier altho they already had "sexier" stages for pre-debut performances.
I still liked the song, but yeah it was kinda just a song i liked, like many other songs as well. Nothing too special about it (besides that surfer riff which I have never heard in a K-Pop song before).
With their next comeback it looks like they'll go for something similar again tho with the teaser photos being named as Joyful and Cheerful, hopefully a bit more unique than the debut tho because they can definitely pull anything off imo
