So in english class I have a debate assignment and I thought it would be interesting to choose kpop vs american pop for my argument topic. So comment which you think is better.


In my opinion I would choose kpop since that is what I mainly listen to and I am more hyped up about kpop. I used to really like american pop but the newer releases are a bit boring for me now. Anyways, what do you guys think?

both bear similarities, but prioritize different aspects
I personally prefer the visuals and soundscape of kpop and the fact that I don’t understand most of the lyrics
had a really interesting convo about a year ago with a friend who’s super into the production side of America’s musical industry about industry plants, the Billie Eilish doc is pretty interesting especially the part where her brother starts getting massively pressured to create a hit by the studios which eventually culminated into bad guy

this year we've had some of the best pop esque albums that blow everything that kpop has come out with out of the water.

future nostalgia is a good example, if it wasnt for that album the retro trend wouldnt be so big in kpop right now, same with blinding lights.
