would have been nice if all events members are tagged because some would be interested in voting even if they are not part of the event.

I asked in the original signup form if anyone would like to be tagged for voting who was not participating in the event itself, hence no reason to user the events members tag. It becomes redundant and we receive complaints if it used too frequently/when not necessary.

I know you asked that question in the sign up forum, but
I believe not all events members clicked on the sign up form. most would have ignored it because a sign up form would mean entering the event.
and you didnt mention in the og thread anything about filling out the sign up form when u only want to vote.
also, the sign up form itself does not give ppl the possebility to choose 'I dont want to enter, but I want to vote' option.
filling it out, would mean to enter.

so yes, I think it would be nessasary to tag all events members.

And some users took advantage of that and asked to be tagged, to which I compiled a full list and use it here. There was nothing in the signup form as it was started in the thread and people just commented that they would like to be tagged for the voting, such as the example below:

If they chose not to click on the thread to begin with, when the events members tag was used, they are basically saying they don’t want to be bothered with the event. Hence no need to tag them again as we are almost halfway through. There is no need to use the events members tag this late in an event: we would essentially be spamming tags that people don’t want.

Tagging users who don’t want to be tagged is pointless at best, counterproductive at worst. If they receive many tags they don’t care about they would more likely leave the taglist, lowering the participation in events overall. It was clear in the op that they should let @wren know if they want to be tagged. Maybe you could miss it if you quickly glanced over the form once. If you read the whole thing, or the parts that describe the event, you would likely not miss it. Some may miss it, but given that the op is full of information that is important in different scenarios, too much of the op would be highlighted if we highlighted the important stuff, rendering it useless. @wren is doing exactly what she should be, she tagged those participating and those who asked to be tagged, not bothering those who have shown no interest in the event. Additionally, for the active users we have on KS, 15 users in an event is plenty. I don’t know if you’re comparing us with forums that are much bigger than KS but if you are, you must realize that they are bigger overall with active users, so of course they would have more events participants. That’s the end of this conversation, we will not respond to more about this. Events users will not be tagged for reasons stated in detail above.
