Hear me out:
You take the clothes from one hamper to the laundry room, put it in the washer.
You go back to your room, you're chillin', you're tired, you do not wanna get up in an hour and go get the clothes out.
The hour comes, the machine chimes, you have to go get your clothes out and move them to the dryer (we've all left clothes in the washing machine, the smell is rancid, and the after affects are absolutely terrible in most cases).
Maybe you have too many clothes so you have to split loads, so one load goes in the dryer and the other half of your clothes go in the washer.
You're dead tired, you just want to go to sleep, but in another hour you have to get up and get those clothes from the dryer. Now you can either a. put them away or b. leave them in a hamper in your room for another week until you have the motivation.
And then, when that's over, you have to get the clothes from the washing machine and move them over in 10 minutes. Then, you repeat the cycle in ANOTHER HOUR.
I've had clothes in the dryer for the past 3 days now and I am finally taking them out today.
I really really really hate hanging up my clothes and putting them away.
