that is understandable but telling yourself that you've never been lucky when she's been in three groups all very much successful - she is very pretty and very talented
obviously nothing takes away from her hard work - I've seen the documentaries and all that so I know how hard she's worked but luck and hard work go hand in hand one does not detract from the other...

But you have to take in to account she's in an industry that bases success mostly on looks, voice and endurance. Looks, you got to be pretty. Vocals, self explanatory. Endurance, putting up with the bullshit from evil fans and companies who'd gladly throw you off a cliff if it created more profits. For some time now she's expressed her doubts in her voice. One of the agreements to joining LSFM was limiting her singing lines and her not being it's leader. This is the result of exposing western audiences who would rather there be 1 girl group that sounds amazing rather than 10 girl groups that can sound good but put on an amazing show. Kpop is about the show experience.

I absolutely agree with everything you said but so does sakura
she's been an idol probably longer than most people on the forums have been kpop fans (certainly for me at least)
she made the conscious decision to be an Jpop-idol then survival show then kpop-idol and now full 7 year contract kpop idol...

she probably definitely knows that singing and dancing aren't her most talented skills and in fact (with all due respect to her) she's probably below average in kpop terms but that in no way detracts from her other talents:
she's pretty (yes I consider that a talent per se)
she's witty
she's charismatic
she's ambitious
she's got stage presence
she's hard working
she's a god on variety shows
she's good at gaming

if someone asked me why sakura is my fav in LSFM her singing and dancing probably wouldn't make it in the top 5 (or even 10) but tht's also what makes kpop different is that kpop isn't just about the singing or dancing or rapping...it's a combination of everything that makes people like it and the kpop idols

absolutely people should be allowed to criticize idol's performances but they shouldn't focus on it and instead should be focusing on the positive things that we like about our favs...
but then again it's the internet and anonymity and people will jump on any "scandal"

unfortunately for the idols themselves - either take such negativity to heart and be worse overall or ignore them and focus on the positive aspects
