What's a cooking fail you've done?
When I was little I decided to make hard boiled eggs but despite the name I didn't know what heat to cook it at. So I picked the middle option which is way not enough to make water boil and cooked them that way for like 5 minutes. Spoiler alert, they were not boiled when I was done

Cooking fails. When my go to story is when my frozen pizza caught on fire on oven. Or more like the baking paper I put underneath it did. Scared crap out of me.

What else hmm. Oh, I once tried to do sweet potato. Even multiple ways. Like somehow just make it edible nothign fancy. I tried oven, didn't work. I tried microwave- I had read up onlien that you can make them on microwave. Was even worse. They just ended up having this "skin" on them that made them nasty to eat. I still don't have any idea how to make sweet potatoes- or what to make of them.

I dont eat sweet potatoes so i cant help you there
I think some people mash them up though? Maybe you can boil them and do that?

Oven or microwave wasn't clearly the way so I guess boiling would be next step

Though it would make sense, they are potatoes after all

I can't think of a cooking fail of my own, but I one time my mom and her friend tried making homemade taffy and they burned it so bad that the spoon stuck to grandma's favorite pan and they couldn't get it off. They tried throwing it away so that they didn't get caught, but my grandma looked in the trash and found it anyways. She was not too happy

Well I'm the type of guy that microwaves peanut butter toast.

Some might say that's a cooking travesty.

I call that delicious.

This isn't mine but one of my friend's stories.

They were told to make stir fry in school in a group and everyone has to bring in different ingredients. Their group brought in instant ramen and then proceeded to pour a cup full of salt into the pan

The group I was assigned to knew little to nothing about cooking or baking. We chose a cupcake recipe...and someone forgot to bring eggs. I make many mistakes bit one that stands out most is;

I use coconut cream for curry. Asian brands mark if it's for desert or not. The food brand Goya missed that memo. It was bad real bad. A bag of surgar would have been less sweet. Washed the beef and tried to eat that but it was to contaminated by sweet.

PS:for sweet potatoes eat and prepare them like potatoes. If they get anything weird on them your not washing it good enough.

Put food in blender without making sure it was soft. Blender wouldn't mix it. Dumped the food in the garbage later.
lol I was too desperate to blend it seems. Gonna have to stick to fruit I think.

My brother set fire to the microwave when he microwaved a baked potato and I found out along with my parents as we saw him throwing the whole microwave outside just as my mum was pulling up

Not as bad as you would think but I have very bizarre taste buds.
Luckily, my family is a health kick and didn't want it because of the meat in it. Never would have heard the end of it.

That actually kind of reminds me of when I didn't have ricotta for lasanga so I put basically any other dairy I thought was close but I failed to realize that the Greek yogurt I used wasn't plain but vanilla flavored
