Read further in their thread and you'll see more than just that tweet where they seem to be making fun of bi people not actually being queer

I don't know if pan people also go through similar experiences but everytime I see biphobia from a fellow LGBT person it makes me sad. i find it surprising still to see LGBT people that think you have to pick a "side" Has anyone here experienced first hand someone saying that to you?

I think part of it is is also for the same reason that people exclude ace people from the LGBT community, which is that gay people believe they haven’t “suffered” enough. Ace people aren’t always attacked for who they love, and bi people can be in relationships that discriminatory people would approve of. But that’s just ridiculous. Suffering is not and never should be a competition, or a marker of whether someone belongs to a community. Bi people and ace people face discrimination as well, from people of all kinds, even among people in the LGBT community, and they very much deserve their place in the community. To think otherwise is just ridiculous and ignorant on so many levels.

Yeah, ace people get excluded a lot too. It sucks. And Aromantic people too. It sucks that instead of being happy for us that we didn’t have to (generally speaking) go through what they did, some of them become bitter. I think a lot of people have a lot of resentment to bi people because they have a choice as to whether they want to date women or men whereas for me I'm only sexually attracted to men so I have to bear the burden of all that comes with it whereas bi people can just choose to exclusively date the opposite sex if they want. I think that is fucking stupid because regardless of who someone does or does not date that doesn't change their sexuality or membership in the LGBT community even if they end up marrying a woman and live a straight passing life.

Nope. I know people irl who’ve called any sexualities other than mlm and lesbianism “not legit or real”, and I met a woman only the other day who called bisexuals “greedy”. Maybe a majority is online but I sure have come across people in my life who’ve been bi/queerphobic 🤷even in my own family
Edit: nvm this. I thought op was talking about biphobia in general not just within the queer community. My statement relates to straight biphobia🙄

I think it sucks that as someone bi I do not consider myself to be apart of the queer community. This is a reason why. Why would I say im apart of the lgbt community when shit like this happens????
