  1. [+25,156, -236] SM needs to arrange for psychological evaluations of all their artists right now. They need to manage their artists on a consistent basis.
  2. [+19,393, -101] The fault isn't just with the malicious comments but also the reporters who start these controversies with their malicious articles not based on fact. Stop taking articles from Instagram. So many celebrities have gotten hate from photos taken from Instagram and written to give them hate. Please be careful when you write articles!
  3. [+5,994, -53] It can't be real. No way
  4. [+4,985, -259] Sulli-ya, I't must've been so hard. I'm so sorry that I couldn't protect you even though you sent us signals many times. Please, be happy where you are and I'll think of you always. I won't forget. Thank you for the happy memories.
  5. [+3,539, -62] Unni, please don't be stressed there.
  6. [+1,830, -55] Take care of Taeyeon too please.
  7. [+1,504, -31] Sulli-ya, october is too cold so please dress warmly on your journey there and eat a lot of delicious things. If you have any regrets, shed them all before you go. I love you.
  8. [-1,903, -20] Only on Sulli's articles are men commenters in their 20s, 30s, 40s overwhelmingly high. If you look at the ranking searches, the top 3 photos are related to sexual harassment. Someone even shared a deep fake photo of Sulli playing with a knob, Korean men killed her!
  9. [+1,275, -20] I'm sure SM is shocked by this too because they've been with the agency for over a decade but please, starting now, sue hate commenters. What's the point of an agency? Do you really see your artists as products? Start taking care of their mental health.
  10. [+1,272, -21] I'm sorry I liked you quietly. I should've been more loud with my like of you but because I'm older I didn't want people to judge me for liking an idol. I'm sorry.
  11. [+706, -14] I thought we'd learned something after Jonghyun's death.
  12. [+664, -5] Of course it isn't entirely SM's fault but seeing that it happened again it means they didn't care as an agency. Please take care of your artists now! Please don't repeat this anymore.
  13. [+449, -15] I'm so angry with grief! Why did Sulli die??? How can this happen?
  14. [+410, -21] Seeing this happen to Jong-hyun, and now Sulli I'm afraid for Taeyeon and Taemin. SM needs to take care of the mental health of its artists!
  15. [+374, -3] Please ban the journalists from attending the funeral! I'm so angry because this is their fault for writing all those malicious articles about her.

1. [+1,023, -20] Sulli... I'll pray that you only have things to smile about with that pretty smile of yours in heaven... rest in peace...

2. [+819, -35] Sigh... let's please throw all the kids who wrote hate comments in jail for verbal abuse and murder.

3. [+575, -13] This is hul...

4. [+65, -1] I wish she had rather chosen to retire and live a pretty life on her own instead, what a shame

5. [+46, -0] Let's go back to having to use your real name on the internet

6. [+40, -0] All this time, I thought she had a strong mental because she handled everything so brightly on 'Night of Hate Comments'... rest in peace.

7. [+38, -2] This makes no sense. I really think Sulli was drunk and did it on a whim without really knowing what was going on ㅠ I really don't think she'd do this sober ㅜㅜ this is so upsetting

8. [+33, -4] I guess there was a reason Sulli was acting so bizarrely... She was trying to express that she's hurt... hurting... why is it only after we lost her that we're realizing that?

9. [+22, -0] Let's please go back to full names being used for comments

10. [+22, -0] I have nothing to do with her but I feel so sad for her life that I'm tearing up... why would you make such a choice... at your most beautiful age...

1. [+5,049, -186] The media and the hate commenters killed her

2. [+2,949, -109] To all of you ba$tards who left comments of s*xual harassment every time she said something, do you not feel anything?

3. [+2,554, -19] I always thought she looked unstable but strong.. my heart is breaking ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

4. [+417, -16] Is this... confirmed? No way...

5. [+330, -57] Whenever Sulli's articles came out, men in their 20s, 30s, and 40s were way higher than any other demographic. Go look at all of the related search rankings for her name. It's all s*xual things, full of s*xual harassment. Male communities shared photoshopped pictures of her, deepfakes, foamed at the mouth whenever she wasn't wearing a bra. Korean men, you guys are the ones who killed her.

6. [+264, -9] Please stop with the hate comments on Goo Hye Sun and Lee Hye Won too. While all of you are hiding anonymously and giggling behind your hate comments, these people have to read yours and get hurt just for no reason than the fact that they're public figures. You are what makes them choose such a drastic decision. Sometimes physical violence isn't the only violence there is. Hate comments are both violence and criminal.

7. [+261, -6] Hate comments are what killed her, and the majority of our society is filled with hate comments. Your delivery ajusshi could be just a little bit late and you'll cuss him out, or you'll leave a strew of cuss words on your app reviews for the slightest mistake... all that swearing while driving, treating servers like your slave... this is the wrong of our society.

8. [+250, -84] Korean men always put her down while s*xually harassing her, you guys are the ones who killed her. All that fuss about her not wearing a bra, talking about Choiza all the time, photoshopping deepfakes with her face, you guys killed her, you Korean men.

1. [+2,603, -103] Hul, what is this, please don't let it be true

2. [+2,342, -98] I hope it isn't true ㅠㅠ I hope it was a false report... ㅠㅠ

3. [+2,289, -230] If this is true, then nothing has changed since when Choi Jin Shil was murdered. Sulli never did anything bad but hate commenters killed another person. I really hope this is a false report.

4. [+393, -167] Megals were all on Sulli's side so Korean men need to shut up and stop blaming them

5. [+384, -97] Go Naver Sulli's name and see what her related searches are. Korean men had no problem harassing her when she was alive but now that she's dead, they're blaming megals? When all the megalswere on her side?

Article: SM reps, "Sulli has left us... unbelievable and in grief"

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+972, -19] She lived and passed like the life of a flower... how hard was it for her that she had to leave like this. So upsetting. Rest in peace ㅠ

2. [+778, -11] I really can't believe it... this feels so weird

3. [+639, -14] Ah, I really don't want to believe it... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

4. [+85, -3] SM, you need to put together a team to manage your artist's mental. This isn't the first time under your agency... Taeyeon is under depression as well. SM is a problem in this, they have no sense of responsibility.

5. [+51, -0] If she had never become a celebrity... I'm sure she would've lived a happier life full of love. Rest in peace... and live your next life full of love and happiness from people who love you ㅠ

6. [+45, -0] Everyone at SM must be super shocked... she was with SM since she was a trainee...

7. [+40, -0] Idol suicides aren't that common but SM has already had twice.. they really need to take care of their artists.

8. [+33, -0] SM really seems unable to manage their artists. Stop being so greedy and thinking only about the money. These guys are all making you so much money so please take care of them and help them live long lives.

9. [+25, -1] Sulli-ssi... farewell ㅠㅠ please be born an average person in your next life and live happily ㅠㅠ I'm tearing up with a broken heart... can't imagine how difficult it was for her

10. [+20, -0] Please, before you write any comments, think about how you'd feel if someone said that about yourself. Everyone needs to reflect, including myself... Too bad our country has passed the point where any change can be anticipated.

-

Source: Naver

1. [+17,796, -150] SM needs to immediately start getting psychological evaluations in order and manage their artists on a consistent basis

2. [+13,729, -64] Don't think that this is simply the hate commenters to blame. The media has just as much responsibility with their irresponsible reporting of news without checking whether it's true or not. All controversies start with the news. Stop taking articles from Instagrams. So many stars wouldn't have gotten hate if the media had never published their Instagram pictures in the news but it's like the media knew that they would get hate and purposely did it. Journalists need to be more careful with their articles.

3. [+4,349, -33] It must be true... I can't believe it

4. [+2,423, -44] Unni, please be happy where you are. Don't feel any stress there.

5. [+1,297, -39] Please take care of Taeyeon too

6. [+1,050, -19] Sulli-ya, it's October but it's so cold. Dress warmly on your journey there. Eat lots of delicious things, look at pretty things. If you have any regrets, shed them all before you go. I love you.

7. [+875, -11] I'm sure SM is shocked by this as well. Whether it was love or hate, they were with her for over 10 years... but please, starting now, sue hate commenters. What's the point of an agency? Do you really see your artists as products? Start taking care of their mental healths.

8. [+832, -15] I'm sorry I only liked you quietly. I should've been more loud with my like for you. I'm older so I didn't want people to judge me for liking an idol but I'm sorry I liked you quietly.

Article: 'Night of Hate Comments' deletes previews, two episodes left with Sulli... unclear plans for future

Source: Ilgan Sports via Nate

1. [+431, -21] Get rid of the show.. it's not fun, it's not touching. Why would you have someone stand there and rip into their wounds like that..? I always thought the show crossed the line, it made me feel gross.

2. [+298, -26] Take the show off air. The show has been controversial sice it first aired. Did they really think that celebrities would be able to relieve themselves by reading their own hate comments? The broadcast company has a part in the responsibility for Sulli's death as well. Not only are the hate commenters and the media responsible but so is this show for having her read her own hate comments in front of the public... JTBC needs to issue an apology.

3. [+271, -23] Night of hate comments?? This show should've never been approved to begin with. The producers and the PD should know to take it off air!

4. [+25, -5] Yes, take it off air. Why would you have someone read their hate comments.

5. [+22, -6] Getting rid of it is the only solution

6. [+20, -5] Take it off air!!!!! No good can come out of continuing to broadcast it!!!!!

7. [+19, -6] This show killed Sulli. She had a filming schedule for this show the next day but she probably didn't want to go. We all knew that she was suffering from depression and hate comments and yet you still made her get up in front of people and read her own hate comments? Who even came up with that idea? Producers, you killed a person.

8. [+19, -5] Get rid of the show

9. [+16, -0] But if not for shows like this, where else can celebrities clear up their rumors and feelings of exasperation? They should just get rid of the part where they read the hate comments and have a separate section for therapy or a lawyer on set to help them draft lawsuits against the hate commenters ㅠㅠㅠ I don't think the show is at fault, it's the hate commenters who are.

10. [+15, -1] Foolish PD, he probably thought he'd hit daebak with a show he ripped off from the Jimmy Kimmel show

Article: 'Love you Sulli', 'Sulli peach' effort to change Sulli's related search terms, why?

Source: Money Today via Nate

1. [+288, -5] It makes me feel bitter to think that someone has to die for change to be made

2. [+199, -6] Her related search terms are trash, why are people so obsessed with skin exposure?

3. [+172, -3] Only now... netizens are so hypocritical

4. [+16, -3] Enough's enough. Let's be real, you guys aren't even going to care in a couple of days. Stop cosplaying as nice people and just stay quiet instead of doing all this only now that she's dead. Your hypocrisy makes me throw up.

5. [+13, -1] What does it matter at this point....

6. [+13, -0] Just stop. Just leave her alone. Her family has no way of ever seeing her again... just leave her alone. You guys had no problem tearing her down when she was up there and shining and now you feel sympathy only after she's become something less than yourselves.

7. [+12, -0] What does it matter, doing all this now? Why couldn't you be nicer to her when she was alive? Sigh, hate commenters, you deserve punishment

8. [+9, -1] Why now?? Just stay quiet... stop being fake, it gives me goosebumps...

9. [+7, -0] It doesn't matter now that she's dead. Should've treated her better when she was alive.

10. [+7, -1] If Sulli had survived and not died, people would still be ridiculing her saying she was being an attention wh*re. Goo Hara experienced something similar. Sulli got hate till the moment of her death.

1. [+2301, -104] She was killed by the journalists and malicious comments

2. [+851, -5] For some reason she looks strong but deep inside it’s dangerous… My heart hurts ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

3. [+844, -20] Whenever sulli talks, she always feels s*xually harassed and gets lots of malicious comments. My heart hurts..

4. [+154, -10] Is it confirmed? No? Right? Don’t tell me…

5. [+152, -10] Huh .. What’s the matter?…..

6. [+93, -0] And now the journalists are going to change their stance and say that the bad guys are the problem, right? The truth is, the journalists have been raising a lot of controversy. Take personal SNS photos of celebrities and put a title on it with ugly words. The journalists are the culprits.

7. [+114, -42] Journalists are always writing articles about her bra, the antis are always trying to curse her, Korean men s*xually harass her and share her photos online. They killed her.

8. [+62, -8] What is this… No way…

9. [+59, -7] It’s the biggest shock of celebrity’ death…

sadly the fakeness and hypocrisy of knetz is true, if sulli hadn't done something this drastic, she'd still be hated on
fuck these hypocritical idiots sitting behind their phone screens with nothing better than to hate on a shining soul that they wouldn't dare admire for fear of being outcast by society

For real though ^

100% true. In a few days the same idiots who mocked her will no longer care and will go on to bash someone else.

The fakeness just irks me. Why do they care now? Why are they apologizing? Knetz murdered another person with verbal abuse and it doesn’t stop because of how our society is structured. Verbal attacks and bullying are ignored because of the presumption the bully will stop and grow up. It’s a power move that doesn’t end for the victim.

It is still hard to believe she is gone, I can't even put in words how shocked I am, words are not enough and will never be
I think SM should take care even more of their artists and go even harder on malicious commenters. Of course it wasn't the agency fault but this is just too much... I don't know what to say, hope Sulli is in a better place right now, may she be in peace. Sulli will always be one of the most bold idols to ever exist. One of the most brave. We will never forget this beautiful angel...

Some Knetzs in the comments might care but the hypocrisy is real too. A show when idols read theirs hate comments is not the problem, it’s the entire society.

She has been killed by a conservative society who doesn’t care about underage idols sexualisation but went after her when she decided what to do of her body and life.

Its awful, but if Sullis suicide attempt had failed its likely that she would have been ridiculed as attention seeker cause thats what knetz and some ifans are doing currently to Goo Hara and T.O.P. And its rly disturbing and messed up. Lets see when another article of either one comes up and what the comments are. No matter how much plp say they must change after tragedy they as whole wont.

ig if this made at least one person reevaluate themselves that's a positive thing. the hypocrisy definitely stings.

but there's a lot more that needs to change...kpop "news" sites that actively egged on the hate by deceitful translations, sensational headlines, and cherry picked moments. like if i could burn down a site on the internet i would...

and whoever is translating the terrible shit knetz spew. please stop.

you know i actually had a moment of realization myself just last month which i took for granted. i remember reading some less than great things sulli said about her time in f(x) and the group itself. but when i went to look up what she said all I could find was people's reactions to it. i realized i based her words on these reactions not her actual words because the reactions are what people spread, not her actual sentiments. so i do think people need to stop translating the hate. let knetz scream by themselves on their ugly corner of the internet.

It seems like when she's alive, they hate or don't care about her, but now that she's not here anymore: 'I'm sorry you had to go through this Sulli, may you rest in peace!'

I have just seen her last video before she died and you can literally see the sadness in her eyes and how she's telling us that she's ending it all.
She was playing the song Harlem River which is about suicide I believe.
Please watch at your own risk:

I don't like Knetz as much as the next person but this is not just a Korean thing and this situation echoes another suicide this year from the Youtuber Etika.

He also did some crazy stuff like attacking a police officer and saying he was god, he clearly wasn't in his right mind and people said he's just doing it for attention.

He made a video apologising before committing suicide and that situation and Sullis goes into a bigger problem that we judged them through moments and ignored the bigger picture that there was more to both of them than these moments.

Both the west and east have a long way to go on truly understanding mental health and how to react in situations like these and hopefully we get there so these situations get the support they need.

it hurts to see that people don/t even regret their actions a little, their words took a life

this is also true, although the west has tended to be more understanding/supportive of mental health issues, but it's not perfect. the world just needs to evolve/adapt to these mental illnesses, and like you said, gain more understanding to help people suffering
