The scientist that named the protein was either doing a serious flex or being a dick to the researches who had to review his work. I hope it's the latter because I would totally do that.

Apparently it’s because it’s made up of 244 protein domains connected into one. And because of that it ends up with a long name, so that it can describe the structure of the whole thing. It’s also the a big protein (the largest even) physically because of all the protein domains.
