LOONA’s legacy (2 Viewers)

Although half the members are still tied by contracts, LOONA is pretty much done for and its an actual tragedy that BBC killed this group when they have been very innovative in a short amount of time.

No one was able to successfully pull off LOONA’s old music videos, nor debut every single member with their own solo, or even become close to a household name as LOONA was. This is a girl group mind you.

They’ve experimented with both their music and videos, performed covers perfectly, came in 2nd in a performance competition, included diversity in their MVs.

I mean really, we’ve lost actual trailblazers in the industry and that happened very abruptly and very quickly and just like that… we lost LOONA

I hope the girls can somehow continue as a group, or at least some of them being in a group sort of like Viviz.

They did it, but now the company and members are in huge debts.. so I guess thats why everyone else just chooses not to do those things

While I would have said before that Loona being done was certain given that BBC left them with no money to realistically continue however I would say that if the Universal thing comes true it could give them an out in order to continue the group for the long term. Chuu is the only member who really has a presence in Korea anyway so the rest don't lose anything by being exclusive to Japan under the contract while giving them an opportunity to make money in order to pay off the debt and save up as a group in order to be able to fund a comeback themselves in Korea which will pretty much set things off from there.

It'd depend on fans sticking by them through it but for the groups survivial it's probably the only window they realistically have unless they can get booked a ton which I don't believe is likely outside of Chuu of course.

I think Yves holds some popularity she’s one of the older members and has done hosting in other shows. Idk how hard it is to get back into being a performer after your group just disbands

I think all mid tier or lower groups start with debts just with a fraction of what Loona started with..

Has any group ever managed that? Other than I think Shinhwa, since that was ages ago if it even happened that way. Not to mention Loonas a bigger group members wise than most, will there be a company who wants to take on all of them?

which is why I asked since I'm not that in the know of Loona and how close the members to each other are and whatnot like most GG maybe some will join the same company and others will go their own ways huh?

I think even if a group mates are close, it’s usually just not feasible. Some signing at the same company sure, but all seems unlikely even if they’re super close.

Yeah I mean chances of that ever happening is very slim. Even IZ*ONE members are very separated nowadays

It can vary as money is one issue since idols have talked about comebacks being expensive but another factor is if the group will lose the trademark since then they have to start from scratch and idk what position Loona is in for that exactly.

Outside of Universal it's highly unlikely without them funding their own company due to the sheer number of members most won't have the funds to take them on and the ones that will won't want them.

after this, I am never stanning another BBC group, ever again! What they did to Loona is just heartbreaking, to say the least!
