Chapter 1
Sabrina’s POV
“Do you have any questions?” my OB asked at my 32-week pregnancy appointment. She had just discovered that my unborn daughter was breech and that they may have to do a C-section to deliver her.
“I’m just a little disappointed,” I admitted, “because I was really looking forward to giving birth vaginally again.”
This baby will be joining my four-year-old son Logan, and he can’t wait to meet his baby sister. Their dad Spencer and I are no longer together, as we’d split about halfway through the pregnancy after a mutual agreement.
“I know, and that’s why we’ll do everything we can to make that possible. Besides, she could flip around last second – you never know! Shall I print out the sonogram for you?”
“Absolutely!”

When I got home after the appointment, Logan and his sitter, a college kid named Matt, were playing with his toy cars. I watched them for a minute or two, waiting for a break in the action to announce my arrival.
“Hey, Sabrina,” Matt said, standing up. Meanwhile, Logan hugged my legs, and I bent down to hug him and ruffle his hair. “How was the appointment?”
“It was good,” I said, giving Matt a ten for the hour he’d spent with Logan. “The baby is breech, but the doctor is hopeful that she’ll switch around to the correct position.”
“That’s good! Hey, Logan found this old piece of paper with Korean writing on it. Who’s Yoon-Gi?”
Matt handed me a crinkled, slightly torn piece of paper. I was confused at first, but then I remembered that this was a note that a guy named Min Yoon-Gi had passed to me back in high school one day. I’d been meaning to have it translated but never got around to it due to life getting in the way.
“Oh!” I said now as I snapped back to reality. “This is just a note I had passed to me in high school.”
“It was in a keepsake box in the back of your closet,” Matt told me. “Who was it from?”
I shrugged. “Just some guy. I would’ve had it translated a lot sooner, but then I had Logan, got pregnant again, and broke up with Spencer. Dare I ask what it said?”
Matt smiled widely. “Well, it seems he had a little crush on you! It roughly translates to, ‘You’re cute; let’s date.’”
I laughed. “You’re lying! I was nowhere near good-looking then!”
It was true. I had to wear braces all through high school, and I was a big klutz, so there was no way in hell Yoon-Gi could possibly have found me “cute”.
“No, I’m dead serious! Look, I’d better go; I have a class in about an hour.” He then crouched down to Logan’s level and said, “I’ll see you later, okay, bud? Give me knuckles!”
Logan gave Matt his knuckles, and after Matt left, Logan asked me if we could go to the lake.
“Yeah, we can do that,” I agreed. “Let’s put some sunscreen on first, though.”
“Why?” Logan asked.
“Because too much sunlight isn’t healthy for your skin, and sunscreen protects it.”
“Oh.”
After I helped Logan get his swim clothes and sunscreen on, I got ready myself, and we were out the door within the hour.

Jung-Kook’s POV
My friends in BTS and I were relaxing in our hotel room when Nam-Joon suggested we go to the lake, mentioning that there was one nearby.
“That sounds good!” Ji-Min said in Korean. He looked towards Yoon-Gi, who was playing video games on the Wii. “Shug, let’s go to the lake!”
“Nah, I’ll stay here,” Yoon-Gi mumbled, concentrating on his game. “Besides, I’m about to beat this villain!”
I watched as Yoon-Gi moved his character towards the villain, and just when he was about to attack the bad guy, I snuck up behind Yoon-Gi and shouted, “BOO!”
“Jung-Kook-ah!” Yoon-Gi complained as his character fell to his death. “I almost had him!”
“And now you can come to the lake with us!”
Yoon-Gi sighed. “Alright, I’ll come.”
