Wow! This is historic for the show, even though I have never actually watched an episode before in any country lol and although this happened last year, this is still new news to me! Good for them!

Love Island Australia has its first ever same-sex couple
"If none of the boys do it for me, I'm not going to fake it."
Love Island Australia has made history with the show's first same-sex couple pairing up on Monday (October 14).
The series, which is a spin-off of the UK version, takes place on the island of Fiji and can be watched (on a week delay) in the UK on ITVBe. It is hosted by Australian model and actress Sophie Monk.
In previous episodes, contestants Phoebe Thompson and Cassie Lansdell had established a connection, but neither had dated a woman before, Pink News reports.
When Phoebe had arrived in the villa, she admitted she was more attracted to Cassie than any of the male contestants. "If none of the boys do it for me, I'm not going to fake it," she said.
"It’s about me and doing what's best for me, it's not about anyone else.”
When it came to the coupling ceremony, Phoebe made her feelings for Cassie clear, declaring: "I want to couple up with this person because as soon as I walked into the villa I noticed them straight away.
"They've pretty much been the only person in the villa that I've had a sexual attraction to. It took me by surprise but every time I talk to this person I just feel like we have so much in common and nothing is ever awkward."
Phoebe then chose Cassie to couple up with, causing host Sophie Monk to say: "I did not see this coming… This is incredible."
Same-sex couples are something viewers of the UK version of Love Island have been calling on producers to include in future series, so let's hope it's only a matter of time before we follow Australia's lead.
