This is something I wish more people were aware of. Everyone seems to be all about "protecting children rights" until it comes to the middle east. The average age of the arrests are reportedly 15. Source
One of the victims, Nika, was kidnapped, raped, tortured for 8 days. Her crime was burning her headscarf in a protest. She was found with broken teeth and jaw, her face unrecognizable after 11 days of missing. She got dropped off of a roof of a building to create a fake scenario for her death. Her guardians were arrested and threatened to stay quiet. She was buried on her 17th birthday.

On top of that, children are armed with dangerous weapons to kill their fellow Iranians, and no one, not even UNICEF seems to care

Honestly, this would have made a lot of noise literally anywhere else in the world. It's horrifying and doesn't seem like anyone can stop these people

is anyone going to do about this? till when will women suffer under the very problematic islamic regimes. this is just one country. there is a whole middle east where women are forced to cover their whole bodies by men, who think they own the women. the UN needs to do something, these women will just be repressed by the army, nothing will change until and unless a foreign power comes into play, cause it just isnt simply about iranian women, its about women finally standing up against the patriarchy and fighting for their rights. and we need to empower it. They perhaps just do not want to, and the Islamic Republic is well known for bribing behind the scenes to cover for their dirty actions anyway. So maybe the west is even benefiting from this.

its not even that behind the scenes. countries like saudi arabia have public records that they sell oil to the US in dollars and not their currency. in exchange the saudis get weapons and away with pretty much everything. theyve been in war with yemen for almost a decade by now, with full support from the US. they also are killing children there. money rules the world, thats a very true saying
on Iran im not as sure, but might be the same case. the war in iraq was beneficial to iran as well, but thats all i could connect between those forces

I agree, the existence of oil has been a huge curse on the middle east. During my vacations to gulf countries I learnt that a lot of Arab citizens are living lives of luxury thanks to these oil deals, while despite Iran having as much oil or more, it never benefitted the citizens in any way. The middle class is a sinking ship. Of course the money doesn't makeup for the human rights violation in these countries but when you are hungry, it is more likely for you to end up in riots like this, something happening very often in the recent history of Iran.
