Neonatal kittens (like Tuchus here!) are born with a suckling reflex. But even though nursing comes naturally to them, it’s actually quite a complex process. They have to coordinate sucking, swallowing, and breathing in a precise rhythm while also creating enough suction to pull mother’s milk or formula from a bottle. The muscles they use for this process are attached very close to the base of the ears…so with a strong enough suckle, you get this adorable wiggle.
