Sometimes it's good to put into perspective what terrible sales actually look like when people are worrying because album sales are a bit down in general.

100%. I'm sure they expected to sell more than one copy (because why bother otherwise), but definitely overestimated the appeal of this.

I think they have lovely voices, but it's not a song I would deliberately go out of my way to listen to again either.

I think physical only, based on the comments in the twitter thread. But their YouTube views are also very low (6.7K after 9 days), so I don't think digital would be much higher.

Normally I wouldn't buy the album. But the song isn't that bad and I can buy the digital album for 1,29 € at German Amazon. Count me in.

I saw the tweet about poor Minimani M after I saw people dooms posting about other recent comebacks.... Like, in first week sales, NMIXX has "only" 618k, Yena has "only" 80k, Itzy has "only" 318k... Like yes, sales are down from the COVID "I'm bored and there's no touring, so I'll buy six copies of the album to support my faves instead" but absolutely none of these artists are doing terribly.

It's not worth mentioning. I've always had a weakness for so-called 'Nugu-Groups'. One of the most underrated (still active) K-Pop groups is a Nugu-Group too: Craxy. They even made a song about it.



I just hope Craxy stays alive after ChaeY got fired.

which is why one has to compare apples to apples...since they are some of the top soloists/groups
there is a reason we don't (and shouldn't compare) my basketball skills to lebrons just as we shouldn't compare itzy's sales to minimanis for example but I think it's acceptable to compare one's sales to one's previous sales and one's sales to one's peers (if one compares at all)

I remember hearing that when it came out! It's so good.

I've always kind of felt like, when people complain, "Oh, there's no groups doing blah blah blah concept" like they're probably is. It's just a nugu group and it's crazy that people will think nugu means bad but it just means unknown. Like Brave Bros was terrible at marketing and couldn't make Brave Girls into a top group. But the exact same producer making the exact same style songs with a company better at marketing, and you have AOA, who was very successful.

Yes, that's fair! It reminds me of when a new soloist debuts and people go "Well, Taeyeon sells..." Taeyeon, one of the most successful female soloists of all time from the top group of their generation, is outselling a new soloist? That Taeyeon? Color me shocked.

I'm also always confused when people use such examples, IU is probably the only real outlier
