My Main Goal for 2025 (1 Viewer)

One the biggest struggles that I have is trying to get a part-time entry-level job in my field. 2024 wasn't too kind for me when it came to applying to jobs.

90% of the time, I end up getting ghosted. The other 10% is getting the email that they aren't moving forward with my application. Yeah, I haven't gotten any interviews.

Today, I met up with my job coach and we went back to see what jobs are out there. Of course, I'm okay with expanding the job applications to job positions that aren't exactly my field of expertise (Communications and Media Studies + Journalism).

The easiest step is trying to find an entry level job that I can apply my current skills set and also learn new skills at the same time. I'm not looking for that forever job yet, but I just need a job that can serve as my stepping stone.

Today, I applied for 7 jobs and 4 of them are with the public library in my city as part-time library assistants (3 at the main library near my house and 1 at my old neighborhood in the city). Also my job coach told about a job opportunity at the organization that's helping me with the job search (it's for a data entry position, which also works as a solid entry-level position). There are also 2 other job positions I found in NYC (Chelesa + Midtown Manhatthan Area).

I do have a bit more faith with the responses for the library jobs and that data entry job at the vocational center.

So I hope I get something at least for some decent job experience.​

I had troubles finding an entry level job in my feilds of study so I worked in a bakery for a while. It was temporary but now I am a part time educator and a research assistant. It will all work out!

Yeah and it doesn't help that my most recent work experience was the volunteer work that I did on HC as a social media team member and an editor (I count it as work experience since I volunteered some time and effort when it comes to managing the instagram page and working on articles)

I was on the editor team there and counted it on my resume. It’s still experience nonetheless

Exactly. Maybe there might one day I end up finding that one job that I consider as a perfect opportunity (plus there aren't in-office writing positions in regards for popular anime companies like crunchyroll or funimation in my area, but I may seek out volunteering position at an anime convention in my area during the spring/summer time )

That’s a great idea never hurts to add more to your resume (especially recent experiences).

I'm wishing all the best. I seen my sister go through this and I can imagine how difficult it must be. I know you can achieve this goal
