Just got home from the vet. Thankfully it's not serious, but it scared me. I've never had a dog just single-mindedly try to hurt my dog before. 😭

Thanks friends. My neighbor saw it happen - she was trying to lock her front door when one of her two dogs saw mine, yanked out of her hands, and her other dog went crazy with jumping, etc. in the excitement. So she was trying to control that dog and yelling for her crazy one to come back. I know she feels terrible, she already paid for my dog's vet visit, and told me she would make sure to check if we were walking by before she leaves with her dogs, now that we know how reactive one of them is.

My dog was surprisingly chill about it, and meanwhile, I'm a mess. My poor baby.

Always have a good pepper spray with you when walking the dog (if the use of pepper spray is legal where you live). You protect your dog but no one gets seriously hurt. I'd recommend pepper spray stream, fog is too sensitive to wind. I'd also recommend buying a good pepper spray but also a very cheap one for training. Aiming with pepper spray isn't that easy under stress. It works way better when your hand-eye-coordination is already 'adjusted'.

Thank you friend! I'll look into it. My dog reacted really well for a crazy dog coming after her -- didn't try to lunge back and backed off with me -- but I don't like that she got hurt. It's crazy how fast a motivated dog can run.
