My resolution to be more zen is not going well (1 Viewer)

I want to be the kind of person who is eager to help, but when I have people arguing with easy to understand, well articulated statements it's like... How are you confused by very simple statements like "that person is not on that team" or "customers spend less in January than December."

Like, okay, maybe that's true, I'm not disputing that, but also, that has nothing to do with what I am saying???

I swear, some people hear what they want to hear and get annoyed when you need them to actually comprehend something.

It's so hard, cry cry. I want to be patient and zen and unflappable even with very stupid things, but I don't think I have the personality type for it.

That's fair. I suppose I can just let them go be wrong, and then when the stupid thing they are doing blows up, it'll be their problem to deal with.

I actually feel like it's way easier to deal with someone who is lazy, but smart, than someone who is immune to feedback. At least the former guy picks up what you're saying, they just can't be bothered to care. Which maybe I need some of that.

I tried to be zen in the new year but then the topic of religion and politics got brought up during my last vacation day.
I've switched my goal of remaining stress-free to dont punch anyone outside of self-defense. So far succeeding x.x

Fingers crossed for you!! I hate being annoyed all the time. But some people are very annoying!

If you do end up punching someone, I'm sure they will have deserved it.

Some people just aren't willing to listen, they just wait their turn to talk which really limits your options of what to do. I think the best option is to just not engage unless it's somebody with whom you're willing to invest the time to develop a different relationship which incentivizes them to listen, but who would want that with somebody who pisses them off?

Remember that getting angry only hurts you and that they are lowkey winning the argument by being stupid if you get worked up about it. Easier said than done I know, I'm quite an emotional person myself, it took me most of my life to learn how to not lash out but I'm still fuming on the inside a lot of the time, lol, there's no beating your nature - you can only manage it.

I just try to be really picky about who I invest my time in now.
