BTS Love Yourself 'Tear' Review

Disclaimer: Do I know how to review properly? Hell no. Proper words to review songs?
What are those? Yeah, just deal with me re-using the same words over and over again
and we'll be all good. Also I was supposed to do this like ... when this came out.

Singularity: 8/10

Ah hah, my boy. I love this song, the tempo is literally perfect and his voice suits this song
so well. It's really nice. I remember watching the MV for this when it was first released and
I loved it, it's such a mellow and chill song. If I listened to this when I'm tired I'd definitely
be sleeping well for the rest of the night, it's just that type of relaxing for me. It's not boring
or dull either despite being on the slower side. I like it. Definitely one of my favorite intro's
in K-Pop.

Fake Love: 9/10

I know this song got mixed reviews from even Army's, I know some said they preferred DNA
but tbh I like this song? The intro was really good for me, I liked the vocals a lot and I loved the rap
a lot too - especially Suga. The chorus is definitely one of my favorite parts of the song. I just don't see
the dislike in this song, it isn't really lacking anything to me. Overall, good song to me. It is the best of
their title tracks? No, but that doesn't mean it's still not a good song.

Sincerity That Couldn't Be Delivered: 7/10

This is a very slow song, but it feels very sentimental just how everything flows together
and the background music. It's a very peaceful song, and I could find myself listening to this
before going to sleep or listening to it on a day that I find myself feeling sad. But that's all
it does for me. I'm not much of a slow song fan, I'm very picky with them actually and as much
as I love the vocals in this song I don't think I can find myself listening to it just on a whim.

134340: 3.5/10

Not my style. I liked the background music but the song itself wasn't my cup of tea. I wasn't
too fond of the rap from RM, the vocals from Jungkook were nice and I liked Suga's parts. I
can't put my finger on it but something about the song just lacks a lot for me and I almost found
it boring? It just didn't have any attention grabbing part for me besides the vocal parts. Can I say
it sounded very repetitive?

Paradise: 9/10

I liked the intro, it sounded ... whimsical and then out of nowhere you got Jimins vocals and yeah
I lied it this far. Very good and catchy beat, flows into the rap really smoothly too and I actually like
RM's part in this. It's pretty nice, Jimin specifically catches my attention throughout this song with
his vocals and I think it's really perfect how they split up the lines. Very memorable song and chill too?
Like it's a song that I could listen to any time, especially if I need a song to help me mellow out. I
like Suga's parts as per usual. Overall, I really like this song. It's really good and the ending is just
as good as the rest of the song imo.

Love Maze: 8/10

Can I just say how complimentary Jimins vocals are to Jungkooks? Switching in between them
is so smooth and easy on the years. This song definitely shows that a lot, their voices meshed super
well and RM's part of course is good, more chill vibes. I like the chorus, I could see this getting
stuck in my head for a few days. I'll be honest I don't have much to say about this one, but I do
know I like it a lot.

Magic Shop: 10/10

Background music is super calming and I like it a lot. Taehyung doing the intro isn't much
to my liking but it makes up a few seconds later with Jimins (?) vocals, correct me if I'm
wrong I think it's Jimin. But moving on, the rap part is nice and chill and the chorus is
absolutely beautiful. It's a really good song and it's not too fast or too slow, its tempo is actually
perfect. Jungkooks vocals as always are gorgeous, and Jin ... just wow. This song really deserves
a lot of praise. It's just a spectacular and beautiful song. Vocals, rap, everything is on par. I
could say this might just be my favorite? There is nothing bad about this song at all.

Airplane pt. 2: 4/10

It is interesting ... but something is just weird. I didn't like RM's voice being so edited like that, I
didn't think it went well in the song. Jimins voice is actually pretty nice here but I just can't really
get into the song. The background music is nice but idk, it's just not my style I guess. I appreciated
J-Hopes rap, although I'm not usually fond of his raps. The vocals are nice to listen to but that's really
the only thing I can get behind? Yeah, just overall not my taste I guess. Can't put my finger on what
exactly I do not like about it?

Anpanman: 7/10

I felt like I was about to listen to a Travis Scott track when I first heard this and that is not a
compliment. Luckily I could appreciate the rest of the song, it actually wasn't that bad and I
liked the chorus although it did give me western rap vibes. But overall, I mean it's not a bad song
it's actually pretty good. Some parts did kind of remind me of Fetty Wap or Travis Scott but that
might just be me, I think it's just how they're saying 'Anpanman' haha. But it is good. Catchy too.
Glad I didn't judge just based on the intro.

So What: 8/10

Intro was a bit bland until it picked up. Definitely seems like a song that would fit a party
scene, it's very upbeat but at the same time slow enough to be chill? I am not sure what overlays
they used on their voices but whatever it is, it's super nice and I like it. It's a really good song
and I'm really into the chorus. Type of song I could probably have on repeat and walk for miles
without changing it. Rap is good too. Not getting over Taehyungs parts. Yeah, I like it. I feel
like this is one of those songs that people thought was bad though, but idrc it's good to me.

Outro Tear: 3/10

Aaaand, not my style. I kind of knew this wouldn't be my style from the start of RM's rap.
Background music is nice? But really I just don't like this. Usually I would expect some sort
of salvation between Suga and J-Hopes rap but something about their rapping in this song
just doesn't suit me. There were a few parts I found myself liking but of course it was J-Hope
and Suga. Unfortunately, there were not enough parts that I liked from them to save the song
for me.

Ddu-Du Ddu-Du: 7.5/10

The intro is quite interesting, I didn't expect it to open up with Jennie and Lisa but I have to
admit I actually quite like it. Transitioning into Rose wasn't bad either, but that may just be me.
I like the vocals a lot, Jisoo has improved a lot. The chorus is actually pretty bomb. I can imagine
a lot of dance parts where this chorus would really go off. Jisoo did so well in this song, her
vocal power is really showing off in this song. Rose also sounds so good, but Lisa singing?
Interesting. The background music goes off. Overall, not bad at all. Take a few times to get used
to it but it's not that bad.

Forever Young: 10/10

Jennie has always had a pretty singing voice imo, I like her opening for this it kind of sets up the
vibe of the song well. Although I didn't expect Rose's part to come in so suddenly, felt it was a little
misplaced. But this sounds so good so far. Jisoo is really shining, and wow Lisa singing. It isn't bad at
all. I really enjoy this song, this is very obviously the pink concept and it's done so well. 'Blackpink is
the revolution', huh, I like it. The background music is super catchy and I think this song is amazing.
The rapping too, it's on point. Please let Jisoo sing as much as she is in these past few songs. Please.
This is probably going to be my favorite song on this album and that ending part around 3:00, I
think that's actually pretty perfect. Great song.

Really: 9/10

I think they're doing well with letting Jennie opening the songs. I kind of got lost in this song as I
was listening to it, so I can't say much about some of the beginning since I just blanked out and
listened to the song. But the chorus is really good, I like it a lot, Rose and Jennie are very
complimentary to each other. Lisa's part is really good, and Jisoo has really been bomb throughout
this whole album. Her improvement is no joke and she has so many lines too which is cool. I mean
they've always had pretty equal lines but it's nice to hear her more often. I didn't mind Lisa's closing
to the song either. It was good. Overall, good song - no real complaints.

See U Later: 8/10

Wow it didn't open with Jennie. Go Jisoo, this song is already promising. Lisa is actually impressing
me a lot more than I thought she would. This song is super fucking catchy already, this isn't okay.
Jennie's raps have been nice throughout this whole album. The chorus though, it's kind of eh - I
wouldn't really expect it to be in this song because it seems out of place. But non-chorus parts are really
nice and I love them. I like the vocals a lot and I'm even finding myself really enjoying the raps - even
Lisa's parts which is odd since usually I'm not too into her rapping. Really, the only problem I have with
this song is the chorus. The bridge is good though, and honestly the rest of the song is enough to save
it.

What Is Love: 8/10

And I am a sucker for every Twice title track, this is no exception. I think by now though
I should be used to Nayeon opening up almost every song haha. Jeongyeon has parts though so
I am content. I like the transition into the chorus, Sana was probably the best pick for the chorus
though. It's catchy and cute. I'm biased but I like Momo's parts, and Mina's parts too. The chorus
is probably my favorite part of the song but I have to admit there's nothing really special about
What Is Love. The only part that really sparked my attention was Dahyuns rap part, otherwise
it's catchy and nice but I see myself getting tired of it. Good song though. Just can't be
overplayed.

Sweet Talker: 6/10

Oh no. No. Sana no. Tzuyu saved you. The beginning was not the best but Tzuyu really saved
that intro for me so I'll be okay. Jihyo's parts are really good, I like Nayeons too - kind of wish
that 'ah-oo-ah' would go away. And the rapping. The vocal parts in this song are good for me, they
aren't too overdone but they're sweet and easy - it's a cute song. I like the chorus though, and the
bridge? Idk if you can count that as one, but I liked that a lot even though it was barley like 5 seconds.
Honestly, not the best song though - it's kind of forgettable music-wise.

Ho!: 10/10

I like the beat, and I love the intro of Chaeyoung. This is definitely more of my taste. I like the strcuture
of this song, Jihyo has imrpoved a lot. This song is really ... funky? It's super catchy and addicting. I like it.
It's got summer beach vibes and it kind of makes me wanna' dance but I'm not gonna'. This chorus is killing
me. I think this is going to be one of my favorites from the entire album. Mina's part is so nice too, it's so
light and short but it's nice. Jeongyeon thank you for blessing this song. Jihyo and Sana really meshed
well here. The girls all sounded really good and I loved the song. I actually don't have any complaints.

Dejavu: 7.5/10

The intro isn't really my thing, too much is happening at once but it calms down a lot and I actually
really like it. Especially once it gets to the 'la la la's'. And now back to really fast okay wow. Honestly,
the fast parts of this song kind of ruin it. The actual vocal parts are really good and catchy. But it the
beginning parts it sounds like they're all rapping and it's just eh. But the break down in the near middle
is a bit weird, but I mean - it's not bad. The song starts picking up nicely after that and the rest of the song
is actually really pleasant. I just wasn't too fond of the beginning. Despite me not liking the beginning,
it's actually pretty alright.

Say Yes: 7.5/10

I'm gonna' like this, I can already tell. Sana's voice may be more cute but it's perfect for this. It's light
and so nice. Oh dear. Mina's part is so nice too - her vocals, I like them a lot. This song is really soft
and sweet. The background music is not overpowering either so it's like the perfect balance in this song
with all of their vocals. The chorus is my favorite part by far, and it slows down with Sana's part near the
middle which is super nice. Nayeon has a really good part, and so does Tzuyu - she actually is probably
one of my favorite voices in Twice as of now. The song is nice. It's pretty if that makes sense.

Stuck: 9/10

Okay I like this. This intro is very ... calming. These vocals are so, relaxing. The background music
is nice too, I could really see myself really mellowing out to this song. I like hearing all of their vocals,
so far this seems like it's all vocals and it's so nice - I like the 'stuck on you' part. Dunno' why, it's not
long but it's memorable. I like the transition between each of the members singing, the song really
does have a nice melody. The chorus isn't overdone either, it's perfect tbh. I like it a lot. Jihyo has
been a champ throughout this whole album tbh. And oh my Chaeyoung, Momo, Jungyeon - this is a
really nice song. Tbh, I can never keep up with the members switching parts but this I can.

LaTaTa: 7/10

I like the intro, Soyeon has a very distinct voice. Minnie has quite a pretty voice, and Yuqi
definitely has an intriguing voice ... it's deep but I like it. I feel like it moved a little too fast into
the LaTaTa parts but that's my opinion. I'm not really into the chorus, their vocal parts anyways.
I like the music for the chorus but yeah the vocals aren't my thing in it. Soyeon is a good rapper,
she has a very different voice and it's kind of ear-candy. So is Minnie's voice. They all seem to
have a good set of vocal chords on them. Aside from the chorus, I like the song but it's not really
impressive to me? It's just not really memorable for me either. I'll give this to it though, the ending
is the nicest part of the song - where their voices get a bit softer. But yeah, that's about it.

$$$: 5/10

Not into the intro at all, Soyeon's rap was a bit of a turn off for the beginning. However, the
transition was actually pretty good and I like Yuqi's voice a lot. Soojin is also a good vocal, I like
their parts so far. The chorus is actually not too bad, it's just kind of eh. It's not bad but it's not
great either. The vocal parts of this song seem to be the only parts I like, and Yuqi's parts are
definitely my favorites. Her and Soojin that is. The ending is quite weird too, it kind of seems
out of place. Overall, not my style. It's not very memorable for me besides the transitions.

Maze: 9/10

I like the background music in the beginning, it's really appealing - gives good vibes. I
think it's perfect for Soojin to open the song too, so far the vocals are on par. The rapping is
actually very good too and fits the song well. And a chorus I actually really like, maybe
because I have not paid attention to Miyeon much - she sings most of it, I like her voice.
Even getting to the middle of the song it's good, it's a bop tbh. The rap parts, and I am in love
with the vocals on this group tbh. Cube did well with training them. There's actually not one
bad part of this song. Definitely my favorite track so far.

Don't Text Me: 9/10

Soojin should open up every song. Maybe that's the trick, Soojin has to open the song for
me to truly enjoy the song. Soyeon's rap is pretty damn good, and the songs build up is super
good too. I don't know if I have a favorite voice tbh, probably Soojins because she slayed her
parts. I am in love with her singing and this chorus is so chill, I could really vibe to this. This
song is pure gold. Where was thin when I was first listening to this album? Ah, shaming myself.
The rap flows so smoothly with this song too, this song really is great. I think I like this better
than Maze. Wow, spoke too soon on the last one then. Really great song, really chill.

Listen To Me: 2/10

Mm, I don't think this is going to be my style at all. It sounds like it's going to be a ballad
and even the vocals is leading to that. Yeah, not really interested in it. Their voices are nice and
pretty though, I'll give that to them. But yeah, this is a very forgettable song for me. I don't mean
any disrespect, but yeah it's just not my style at all - listening through the whole song, nothing
caught my attention. I guess it's a bit to K-Drama OST sounding for me.

What's In Your House: 9/10

Ooh this intro beat though, that's nice - and ooh the beginning is so smooth. I like it. Yuqi has
such a pretty voice, this is ear-candy ... Vocally, they're an outstanding group when it comes to
have very distinct voices. Oh ho hold the fuck up why is this the first time I've noticed her name
come up - Shuhua. That voice, now that is a nice voice. Why haven't I seen her name come often
that often? Hmm. Back to Soyeon rapping and those nice vocals. I like this chorus a lot, it's really
catchy and memorable. I like this song a lot. I'm just pissed this is the last song, and it's the first
time I can actually pin-point Shuhua.

> Only did new songs on the album

Black And Blue: 7.5/10

Okay right into I guess, this intro is pretty dope. This is really not at all what I was expecting.
The rap isn't really my style but this beat low-key goes off. I forgot how much I loved their
vocals. This song is a banger ... the chorus isn't really interesting but afterwards is pretty nice.
Like the rest of the song is pretty great, it's super upbeat and isn't really boring at all. I loved that
high note moment in the song too, the vocals are just so good. Overall, the song isn't the best but
it's definitely interesting and pretty addicting in some parts - especially the repetition of 'black blue'.

Take Me Higher: 10/10

Okay, already a catchy and nice beat. Ooh that opening vocalist, okay this is good. I like this. These
vocals are really getting me, andoh my that build up to the chorus - so addicting. I really love this chorus
too. It kind of reminds me of Seventeen but it's still A.C.E. This song has a lot of summer vibes and I'm
really digging it. There is not a single bad thing in this song, everything is on par - this is a song I could
listen to on repeat for weeks. Honestly, they're slaying this whole song. Very memorable release, I see
why they made it the title track. Chill rapping too, it's not too overdone - and oh that change of background
music .... I like it. I like it a lot. Well done A.C.E.

Dessert: 9/10

Well this has a nice vibe to it already, okay yeah I like this a lot. Whatever they overlayed his voice with,
it was good for an intro. These vocals are nice too, simple but super pleasing. The beat is really good, the
build up in great too and really compliments the chorus. I really can't get over the background music, it kind
of feels tropical but that's probably just me. A.C.E is super impressive tbh, this song is so well done - not messy
at all. Their voices mesh so well together, and the ending of the song - like last 25 seconds is probably my
favorite part of the entire song. Good track.

5tar: 7.5/10

Oh how pretty ... the opening vocals are so soothing. I got goose bumps and that's not just because I'm
sitting in a cold ass basement. I'll have to say though, probably won't like this as much just because it's
a slower pace - but the vocals are literally everything. Oh? No? Okay it picked up, that's nice. Okay, not
bad at all. Rapping too, but it's good - I like his voice a lot and I don't even know who it is. Sorry dude but
you've got a nice tone while rapping. The 2nd half of this song is very different from where it started, I
couldn't catch myself listening to it on repeat but it's definitely a change of pace and is really nice. The
ending is absolutely beautiful. That is probably the part that will stick in my mind the most. So, even
though it's not exactly my cup of tea it's still pretty good so I'll give em' that.

Night Rather Than Day: 10/10

This is an old album, so I'll admit I've already went through the entire thing and let me just say
this song is absolutely spectacular. I remember the first time listening to the song when the intro
played I was afraid of the song being too slow but it really took a 180. I am an absolute sucker
for Hani and LE though so I decided to give it a chance and I have no regrets. This is by far one
of my favorite songs from 2017. The chorus is so catchy and the vocals are just great as per usual
from them. LE's rapping throughout the entire song is on point, she has my favorite parts in the
entire song as well. There is no down-side to this song at all.

Boy: 10/10

Ah, probably my favorite track from the entire album - the background music is on point throughout
the whole song. I loved Junghwa's opening too, she kind of sets the tone for the whole song and
Hani's part is perfect too - soft but interesting. The chorus is what got me hooked on this song, it was
honestly just so addicting to listen to - I don't remember if this song got a lot of hype or anything, but
honestly it deserves it. The vocals are so beautiful, Hyerin killed me multiple times. LE's rapping also
gave me life. This entire song man, is perfection. An addicting song with a catchy chorus, this song
is really memorable for me - I catch myself singing to it without it even playing sometimes.

How Why: 7.5/10

I'll admit, I didn't remember this song until Hani started singing and then it hit me. I actually didn't
like Junghwa's little parts in this. This song, for me wasn't as impressive or interesting as the last
two. I loved LE's rapping though and the chorus was also a part that really got me hooked. EXID
really do have great background music on their tracks, Eclipse especially. So, overall I wasn't that
into the song, like I couldn't listen to it on repeat - however LE's parts and the background music
as well as the chorus really saved this entire song for me.

Milk: 6/10

I remember this, I actually enjoyed Hani's vocals through the entire song. The only issue I think
I had was just that it was a bit too slow for me so I couldn't really get into the song to the point where
it was memorable for me or I could get it stuck in my head. But it had a pretty nice chorus and like
I said, Hani's vocals are so pleasing to listen to. She has such a distinct voice. I'd like to see
more solo things from her in the future tbh. The ending of this song is really nice too.

Velvet: 8/10

I am a sucker for LE man. I could listen to this woman rap all day and not get tired of her voice. This
song started off so chill just with that beat and then her rapping came in and I just mellowed out. Idk
how she's able to do this to me, sometimes I'll get goosebumps when she starts rapping. This chorus is
actually my favorite thing right now. This song has some really sexy vibes going on though, I don't think
I remember this to be completely honest. But this song is addicting as hell, especially the chorus - that
chorus is literally everything. I like this song a lot, a little too much.
